Off Topic / Do you know of a relationship forum?
« on: May 15, 2014, 05:31:53 PM »
Even though What's Your Problem is fantastic, I feel like I'm starting to bombard it with too many personal problems, and I wonder, does anyone maybe know of any websites dedicated only to the discussion of relationships? I mean, romantic/dating type relationships. When I search on google I did check out what popped up, but those forums seem really huge and not very personal, and I was hoping to find something a little smaller where I could maybe feel like I got to know the people there, and maybe even even give advice as well as ask for it.

Pony Brag Arena / Yay! Found some G3 ponies at BABSCon!
« on: April 20, 2014, 05:15:53 PM »
My friend surprised with a trip to BABSCon yesterday! I know it's a G4 convention so I wasn't really expecting to find much from the other generations, but there was one booth that had a couple shelves of G3 and G3.5 ponies. I was so excited to see they had G3 babies!!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Aren't they adorable? I already have all these babies, but I simply can't resist them! And the adult G3 is a new one for me, I forget her name but she's been on my wishlist for awhile ^_^ So pretty!

Off Topic / I'm going CRAZY trying to find this song!!
« on: April 16, 2014, 11:58:26 PM »
So last night while I was driving home I heard a new song that I instantly fell in love with. Of course, I'm TERRIBLE at remembering lyrics, so when the song was over I tried to listen to what the DJ called the singer. I could have sworn on my life he said it something like miko or niko, but searching on youtube is getting me absolutely nowhere. I've looked up all the radio stations I could have possibly been listening to and nothing

Please, if someone could help me find this song I'll send you a million pony hugs. I remember it was sang by a man (only one, not a band), it was sort of a love song (but not super duper mushy), it sounded like there was some kind of upbeat drumming going on, like conga drums or something similar...or maybe African drums (I really don't know my drums). Ummm...the lyrics MAY have had something to do with stars? Dreams? No, don't quote me on that, I really have NO idea what the lyrics were.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? I've literally been searching for about an hour and I have a feeling it's going to keep me up all night because I'm so frustrated!

Pony Corral / Question about G3.5 ponies
« on: April 06, 2014, 11:16:27 AM »
So, after reading through the Pony Tales thread, I'm really curious about the G.3.5 ponies. If the pony generations are decided upon by their toylines rather than the show (which makes sense to me seeing as Tales ponies look exactly like all the other G1 ponies), why aren't G3.5 ponies considered G4? They don't look anything like G3 ponies, and had enough variety (through the Ponyville sets) that I would think they deserve their own full gen.

Can someone please enlighten me? I know G3.5 isn't exactly a community favorite, but I still feel like it lacks the respect it deserves.

Off Topic / Bloggers! I call out to you!
« on: March 17, 2014, 10:05:20 PM »
Hi everyone! So, eons ago I really wanted to start my own fashion blog, mostly for fun, to challenge my writing skills and to maybe connect with others who shared my interests. Unfortunately, it ultimately didn't work out and about a year ago I ended up deleting the entire thing because none of it was working.

I admit, my main issue is that I like for things to be very organized, and I was troubled that I didn't have a definitive idea about what I wanted to blog about. Mostly, I wanted it to be a blog about my girlier, prettier hobbies like Lolita, BJDS and My Little Pony. And I thought that seemed okay. But as it wore on, I became very frustrated that it all seemed too messy, even as I categorized like a crazy person. I know for some people their blog is like their journal and they can write about whatever is going on in their life, but for me, I guess my brain just doesn't work that way.

Anyway, recently I've REALLY been wanting to start it up again! Only this time I want to choose ONE topic and keep it at that,  and I'm 99% certain I would like to blog about Lolita. Only problem is...I'm scared! What if I run out of things to talk about? What if I want to start drawing on other elements of my life again like ponies and I start getting annoyed at how messy it all gets? How do I tie in other elements of my life into my main focus without feeling overwhelmed? So, my fellow bloggers, please share your experiences! Mostly I am thinking in terms of blogs such as those hosted on blogger or wordpress, not Tumblr which is more of a reblogging site, but either way, fellow blogger friends, please share your pearls of wisdom  ^.^

Off Topic / Insanity workout-your experience?
« on: March 04, 2014, 10:29:11 AM »
So, I've been looking more and more into the Insanity workout as I would really prefer an effective workout I can do in privacy and like many I've heard a lot of positive things about this one. Of course, it costs a pretty penny, and before I pour this kind of money into it I'd like to know the opinions and experiences of REAL people who have tried this program. Do you recommend it?

I also have my own lightweight punching bag and if anyone has any kickboxing workout dvds to recommend I'm also all ears. But please don't recommend anything from Jillian Michaels.

Thanks!

And I'm not just talking G4 here, pick any generation! It's a fantasy thread ;)

I know there are a lot of popular cutie mark types and color schemes out there, but what else would you like to have seen more of? Consider this a sort of fun "design your own pony" thread, nothing hardcore like creating OCs, just pretty ponies you would love (or had loved) to buy! I need to cheer myself up badly so maybe doodling some ponies that people would like might help.

And I wasn't really sure how to search for this, so if there's another huge thread about with a similar idea please let me know.

So here's the thing, I have always dreamed of opening my own little etsy shop to sell small merchandise (keychains, bookmarks, stickers, magnets, etc.), and in doing so would use a portion of my proceeds to donate to either St. Jude Children's Hospital or a legitimate breast cancer research foundation. I'm not looking to make a huge business here, but a small shop to challenge myself, get my name out there and ultimately donate to a cause I believe in.

However, I was really hoping to sell mostly fanart, likely My Little Pony, Ninja Turtles, and a few Disney characters, as I both really enjoy drawing these things the most and I know they are most likely to actually sell. My main concern however is legal issues as the bulk of most fanart is simply NOT legal to sell. I have read that fanart sold for non-profit (such as donations) is legal, yet ALL proceeds must be donated which I can't do because if I did that how would I ever break even  for the cost of supplies?

I know people sell fanart all the time at conventions and it's no big deal, and I'm not really good enough to be some kind of threat to these companies, but just the same I want to do this legally. It's been recommended to contact these companies and ask for permission, but I wouldn't even know how to begin contacting a company as huge as Hasbro, Nickelodeon and Disney!

Can anyone help me out here? I've really wanted to pursue this for so long, and while I can draw original characters and such, I know they would never sell as I don't have the time or will to attempt to create a fanbase for them.

Pony Corral / Baby Boogie Woogie and Baby Hokey Pokey-can I see yours?
« on: February 25, 2014, 03:39:55 PM »
I know we're not allowed to post personal stories on these threads anymore, so I'm just going to ask if I can please see lots of pictures of these two babies. I really need to see them :(

If you have photos of the winter babies too that would also be lovely.

MLP Nirvana / Unicorn Bowtie??
« on: February 16, 2014, 06:12:41 PM »
Please forgive me for my noobness, but I know NOTHING about Nirvanas

I read somewhere about a Bowtie version where she is a unicorn and I'm very curious about her. Bowtie (and Parasol) is my favorite G1 pony, and when I discovered there was a unicorn version of her my jaw dropped! Is she a Nirvana pony? Is there only one version of her as a unicorn? Is she difficult to find/expensive?

Or if you have her could you please share photos!

Pony Corral / Quick question about G3 Toboggan
« on: February 02, 2014, 11:36:42 PM »
Hi pony peoples! I just had a quick question, does anyone know if all G3 Toboggan's have hoof hearts? Did some not have them, and if not any reason why? I'm just curious, thanks!

Hi! So I'm hoping to complete my collection of G3 babies, and these are the final 6 I'm trying to hunt down:

Baby Ocean Dreamer
Baby Tea Lily
Baby Honolu-loo
Baby Sandy Island
Baby Surf Star
Baby Wave Catcher

I was hoping that if anyone had any of these ponies, would you mind sharing any photos that I could please use to create a "Wanted" signature with? I know My Little Wiki has a few photos, but anything up close and clearer would really be appreciated!

Hi pony peoples! So, I feel kinda rude asking this but I was sorta hoping someone here with a little more photoshop experience can help me out. I'm trying to complete the last of my G3 baby collection since they're absolute favorites but a few continue to elude me. Specifically, I'm looking for these final 5:

Baby Tea Lily
Baby Honolu-loo
Baby Sandy Island
Baby Surf Star
Baby Wave Catcher

I was wondering, can anyone help me please create something for my signature featuring these six ponies to let others on the arena know I'm searching for them? I would very much appreciate any assistance!!

Off Topic / So, a question for all you artists with sketchbooks!
« on: January 09, 2014, 03:14:19 PM »
Heylo fellow artists and doodlers! I have a little bit of a conundrum. Personally speaking, I never got into the whole digital drawing dealio. True, I like to paint digitally and experiment with digital tools, but when it comes sketching and setting down my lines, I simply have to do it traditionally. And as I've been drawing longer than I can remember, this means that I have a pretty substantial stack of sketchbooks growing bigger and bigger each year. Although I scan in my finished work, I still keep the hard copy.

Problem is, there's growing to be too many! And I don't know what to do with them! I feel like I'll regret it if I destroy them, but at the same time I just don't have enough space to keep hording them like this. Are they are other creative options I might be able to turn to? What do you do with all your old sketchbooks?

Arts & Crafts Corral / Creating "ponysona's" for other people? Help please!
« on: December 04, 2013, 05:37:36 PM »
So here's the thing, I've decided that I'd really love to paint pictures of ponies for everyone in my immediate family as birthday gifts for next year. Now, none of them are as into ponies as I am, but I've finally reached the level artistically where I'd feel halfway comfortable gifting my artwork to someone, and I really want to create something personal and special for each person. So this also means that instead of drawing just any random pony, I'd like to create a "ponysona" for each person I'm painting for, so that it really represent them and their tastes.

Only I'm SO terrible at this kind of thing! Inkling, the unicorn in my avi/sig isn't really my ponysona as she is her own unique character, but if I had to choose any of my OC ponies as being representative of myself she would be it. And she took me months to create! I'm already feeling overwhelmed trying to think of where to even begin creating them for other people.

So basically what I'm asking for are any tips? I know the general idea of what to go off of-favorite color (though what do you do when you run into someone like my mom who adamantly insists she has no favorite color), hobbies, skills...but I feel like that's all so vague! I tend to like my ponies as being very monochromatic and themed, but I worry my own personal tastes might get in the way of what they might like instead. Eep, I'm at a loss!
