In May of 2018, I was working on a custom carry case for Megan and Sundance, inspired by the official Carry Case and the Collector's case. The body would be of cardboard and the liners/partitions would be made from cut-up milk bottles.

This second pic marks my progress as of my last update on May 29, 2018. I actually finished the case structurally not too long after. I held off posting an update because at the time I wanted to wait until I had decorated the outside (which I still haven't done). And up until yesterday I managed to completely space that I never did get around to posting a pic of the structurally-complete case.

I now rectify that error.

That same spring, I had laid in a stock of milk bottles to do a Collector's Case for the Flutter Ponies (minus Hollywood)... and never got around to acting on it until now.

Currently working on the cardboard structure. Will soon be able to install the dividers.

So, my wants currently are on the simple side..

First thing is a replacement communicator cover for my Disney Store 12" Buzz Lightyear. I believe the same make of Buzz Lightyear was also sold at J.C. Penney's, if that helps.

Another is a cheap Winger. Summer Wing or Windy Wing, doesn't matter. Haircuts? No problem. Chewing? No problem. Marker marks? No biggie. I would prefer with both wings since they're not modular the way Flutter Wings are, but I'll see.

Got a new want (or two) and figured I may as well add it to this thread rather than start a new one, since this is still open.
I recently splurged on a cheap secondhand Gosei Great Megazord from Power Rangers: Megaforce. It had all parts except the Megazord's head, and I was wondering if anyone might have a spare.

I would also be interested in the Sea Brothers Zord set, if anyone has one to sell for cheap.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Fun with Toy Story toys (Please share your pics!)
« on: September 20, 2020, 06:52:51 PM »
I've been into Toy Story for the majority of my life, one of my early obsessions. What I've read about the plot of 4 puts me off watching it, although some of the toys hold appeal.

My collection consists of:
* My original Buzz from 1997, in a sorry state His head is missing, possibly swapped onto the later Buzz mentioned below. The epoxy repair to his left forearm failed, and the arm is missing (probably gone forever). Helmet also absent, incomplete. Jetpack is missing too; I took it apart to try repairing it but I have no idea where it got too. It may be in the garage, it may have been thrown out by mistake.
* A later Buzz (but still in the original design), with frayed wiring in need of repair IIRC, and suffering from an abortive effort to give him a working communicator. Might swap the head (back?) onto my original Buzz and turn this one into a different Space Ranger.
* Strummin' Singin' Woody from 1999, vest and bandana stolen by a kid who "borrowed" him, holster lost to the mists of time, guitar in need of having the battery box cleaned
* Silver and purple Megamorpher Buzz, a gift from an old friend of mine
* A few stray fast food figures IIRC
* Disney Store Buzz (Hawaiian Vacation but missing the clothes; also missing his communicator cover) obtained from a yard sale
* R.C., possibly the Toy Story Collection version, missing the remote. Also a yard sale find, though not from the same as Buzz
* One of the squeak-toy LGM aliens from Pizza Planet; mine is an actual rubber squeak-toy version, unlike the Toy Story Collection/Signature Collection versions. This was from the same slaw as R.C.
* A large mostly-soft Jessie doll with yarn hair, from yet another yard sale. Missing the hat.
A partial 1985-2009 style Mr. Potato Head (but lacking everything except for the blue shoes and maybe the hat).

I need "main" versions of Woody and Jessie (if anyone can make recommendations, let me know), as well as needing Zurg, Bullseye, Rex (at full movie size), Hamm (ditto, and he's even worse than Rex on that front; most merch of him is undersize), Bo Peep, Slinky, Mrs. Potato Head, and more.

Lately, I dug out the movie-accurate spaceship box I built (using a template by AndrewStrappers on DeviantArt), repaired the storage wear and fixed most of the structural faults, and added the glazing I couldn't when I first built it.

Off Topic / Curled closet door track - can anyone help?
« on: August 08, 2020, 05:23:04 AM »
Not too long after it was installed, the bottom track for my closet door  curled up (as seen in the attached photo), seemingly at random. And so for years I've had to fight with the doors when I want to move them.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Do you have any idea as why or how it happened? And what can I do to fix it?

Off Topic / Struggling with dismantling a "No-Tool assembly" chair
« on: August 04, 2020, 03:12:28 PM »
Last month, I bought  "no tools required" Boss Office Products chair. I'm having to return it because Amazon's dumb search engine falsely presented it as a 500lbs-capacity chair when it's actually only a 250lbs-capacity chair.

To do that, I need to take the chair back apart. Which is where the no-tool assembly thing becomes a big problem. It means there's not an obvious way to dismantle it, I had to email the manufacturer for disassembly instructions.

Which haven't helped.

I'm following these alleged disassembly instructions, which say to strike the bottom rim of the gas lift with a rubber mallet to detach the base.

No matter how many times I hit it with the mallet, the base doesn't budge.

Does anyone have any experience with taking one of these stupid things apart, have any advice? Because this is being extremely frustrating, to the point that I'm tempted to pitch the chair into the road.

Customs / Good bases for a custom Danny doll?
« on: August 02, 2020, 12:05:40 PM »
I've long wanted to make a Danny doll to go with Megan and Molly. But I've never been sure on what would be a good base for him. Obviously it would need to be a doll with the same head-to-body ratio as them in order to match... And it would need similar leg articulation (At minimum), to be able to sit on ponies. ~5" from scalp to sole would be a good size, I think, since that's between Megan's 6" and Molly's 4". Coming with rooted hair already would be ideal, since that means the head is set up for it without me having to modify it.
EDIT TO CLARIFY: The leg articulation, intermediate size, and head-to-body ratio are the most important things.

Anyone have recommendations? The base doesn't necessarily have to be male, just as long as the chest isn't overly pronounced or anything.

Pony Corral / Widest G1 pose?
« on: July 11, 2020, 04:43:26 AM »
I'm planning on making an engine and train cars for Steamer, and I want to know how wide to make the passenger cars. To that end, I want to know what the widest G1 pose is. At least, as far as standard ponies go; not planning on cramming a Dream Beauty into the train or anything.

Drew this as a last-minute sketch for Junicorn, and got it posted to DeviantArt last night.

Majesty caught someone who had been setting off backyard fireworks non-stop, driving everyone bugnuts and risking starting fires.
And she decided to teach them a lesson as only she can.

I decided to make a Simon Belmont outfit and accessories for my Megan doll.

First thing I'm working on is the Vampire Killer whip in its morningstar form.

Most of the accessories will be based on their Castlevania I appearance, but I decided to make the Vampire Killer's handle a simplified version of its appearance in Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate.

Arts & Crafts Corral / WIP Project: Arcade for my Ponies
« on: January 25, 2020, 10:38:16 AM »
Some of you may have seen me mention this project in the Shoutbox.

One of the things I got for Christmas was one of those mini retro arcade games. I noticed that it was about the right size for G1/G3/Fashion Style G4 ponies to play with, so it gave me the idea to build an arcade for my ponies using that cabinet as well as cardboard dummy machines. At the suggestion of @Twizel , Minty will be the proprietor

The arcade is going to be built as modular sets, although I will also make pieces to allow it to be assembled in the "dollhouse" style of typical MLP playsets.

Here is the first concept:

Starshine out of her box. Sadly she seems to have some discolored spots, but I still think she's pretty.
