One of my friends dug up all of her old G1 ponies, and she's letting me clean them up for her ^_^ Yes, I find this exciting, lol. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI don't have any experience cleaning up G1's, though, so my question is, what is the best way to go about cleaning them to make sure I don't damage them? What kind of problems do I need to look out for; do I need to remove their heads and clean inside them? Thanks for any help!

This thread is so I can post updates on the custom Vinyl Scratch that I'm making as part of a trade with starlightcomet  On the last VS I made, I used an elastic band to hold the shades on her head, which left unsightly holes on either side of the shades. So on THIS girl, I've fixed a magnet to the inside of her head, and sculpted another magnet into the shades! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginYou can just see the magnet I've glued behind her eye... visitors can't see pics , please register or login...and here's another magnet I used to hold the head magnet in place while the glue dried, lol. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginHere's the shades with embedded magnet. I actually sculpted these shades twice. The first pair, after sculpting and baking, tried to fly off her head every time I put them on. Didn't take the polarity of the magnet into account when I placed it into the shades, so I had accidentally used a piece of magnet that was repelled by the magnet in the head. *facepalm* Resculpted, baked, painted, and - visitors can't see pics , please register or loginIt works! Muahahahah! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginStill not completely happy with it. Made the bridge too long, so there is a gap between the shades and the pony head on the eye without the magnet. (Might rescuplt a 2nd time...) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginSo, VS has her head, glasses, and cutie mark painted, and I've got her tali in. Still have to seal everything, and I'm waiting for some Forget Me Not blue hair to get here from Dollyhair. But once it does, I'm ready because - visitors can't see pics , please register or loginPin Vise!! Also known as a rerooting tool, seen here next to my old one use only rerooting tool. I'm excited about using this, because I broke SO MANY needles doing the first VS. Now I can just pop the broken needle out and put in a new one! Got that tool on Amazon for $3.50, btw. I'm considering doing a trade with someone in the UK, but I've never shipped anything international. Could someone with experience share some insight as to the best way to ship a single custom pony safely and hopefully inexpensively?
What sort of packaging works best? Is there a shipping method that is safe (read: has tracking) without being ridiculously expensive? What is different about shipping internationally vs shipping domestically?

Boy, when that custom bug finally bites, it bites hard, doesn't it? After making a Sonic the Hedgehog fakie custom and a Mario blind bag custom for my friend's daughter's birthday, I am now making a Vinyl Scratch custom for my brother's birthday, huge brony that he is. Here she is, waiting on hair to come in from Dollyhair. The mishmash of ponies and pets behind her is my pony table  visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginI am SO proud of those dinky little sunglasses. I took a sewing needle to an elastic band to make those things. They are fully removable, they fit perfectly, and they look AWESOME  My first time using Sculpey! She's made from a Rarity, painted with acrylic and sealed with glossy Mod Podge. I had to remove her symbol and repaint it, after I realized that Vinyl Scratch's music notes are supposed to face the wrong way. Who knew? --- Update: Done! She's off to my brother as soon as I get a box. My friend's daughter is having her birthday party in week, and of course it's My Little Pony themed (she likes it almost as much as her mom and I do  ) She's turning 4, and she already has pretty much everything we can get around her that's MLP G4. So I decided to make a custom pony for her using a big (styling size, g3ish) fakie pony that I found at the dollar store. I plan to dye the pony from light blue to purple, and rehair her (she has thin, limp, terrible, pitiful hair, lol). I don't think I want to use nylon hair. Bella roughs up her ponies reaally good, so I was thinking maybe yarn or embroidery thread would hold up better? If anyone knows of a tutorial for yarn or embroidery hair, please point me to it! The row of holes in her head for hair is pretty short; doesn't extend up to her ears, so I need to poke a few more in there to make her look decent. Is there a certain way to do that, or can I just make them with a needle? Thanks!

I'm wondering if any of you guys have read this before. Where I Watch My Little Pony - This guy wrote reviews for all of the old G1 episodes and movies, the new FIM episodes, and a lot of timeline conjecture and other thoughts. I loved it. His take on the old show is what made me want to watch MLP again after I grew up. ^_^ And just a note, he wrote the G1 reviews before FiM came out, so it's not a brony perspective on the G1 show.

I stopped by Walmart because a friend told me they had stocked up on blind bags (still looking for a Roseluck) and they had 6 left, so I picked a couple up... And the ponies fell out.  4 out of the 6 were torn open. Seriously, what's wrong with people? Are they that darn cheap and set on getting specific ponies, that they can't either buy multiple bags or order them online or something? Why do you have to destroy the merchandise? It's completely unneccessary. My friend finished her set by checking them out through the tiny pin hole in the bag. The new codes are online. Y U gotta rip open the bags?! So... just needed to rant about that a bit.

I've got final exams this week and I'm sure I'll need something to take my mind off of it and relieve some stress. I think drawing ponies is a great way to do that.  So give me a request of a pony (or two ponies together) and give me a setting or background to put them in. I don't do a lot of backgrounds, so this should be a good challenge for me. I give no guarantees on timeliness (I may get one done in a few minutes and the next one take me a day or two), but I promise to do my best.

I had suspected before, but this last episode cements it. Pinkie Pie is 100%, indubitably, my sister-in-law Jennifer. "HEY EVERYPONY! Does anypony have TUPEE?!?! This donkey is REALLY REALLY BAALD!!!!" My god... They painted Jennifer pink and filmed her walking on all fours. There is no other explanation! I know none of you know who I'm talking about, but I am DYING laughing here while I watch the new episode, and I had to share it or explode!  Does anyone else have any resemblences they see between friends and family memebers, and certain ponies?

*whines* I miiiiss drawing ponies!  I quit my job to go to school full time  , and rather than having more time for fun things like drawing ponies and making adoptables, I find myself completely absorbed in classwork. Nothing like a boring dead end job to free up time for drawing ponies, I guess. Here's a picture I made around Christmastime that never made it to the adoptables forum.
