« on: February 08, 2014, 06:19:50 PM »
Hey...

So, no pics, sorry, but I was wondering what the following ponies in excellent used condition would go for...

Fantasy Fillies
Cirra with brush
Zinnia with brush, working lights.

Fashion Star
Janel
Raquel in the Calla Pose
Niki
Two of Niki's silver hoof warmers and one silver bow
One of Raquel's pink bows.

Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks!

Good morning, ponies,

So I shipped some items to China on August 26 via airmail.  I received notice today from Paypal that my buyer has opened a Paypal dispute over payment on the basis of parcel not received.  I then scrolled back through my messages, and realized she sent me a short message a week ago about it that I hadn't responded to.

It's totally my fault that I didn't respond to the message.

I am a Respiratory Therapy student with med school aspirations.  In concrete terms, this means I get up at 4:45 AM every day, bike 8 km to the hospital regardless of weather (and I live in Canada), and work an 8-12 hour shift.  On the days when I get out early, and weekends, I bike another 8 km across town to the local college to work on the emergency response team and with the local Humane Society.  I get most of my messaging done in between waiting for emergency calls to come in, and studying.

This is no excuse for failing to read my messages more carefully, but I hope it does put it in context.  I rather wish the buyer had sent me another message before escalating it to a Paypal dispute, but oh well.  In the interim, I can only hope she responds positively to the message I sent her.

Beyond this?  I asked one of my Chinese friends about the address the buyer provided me, and he suggested that it might be missing a postal code.  Do Chinese addresses have postal codes?  Or is there anyway I can send proof directly through Paypal of thetran saction where I paid for shipping to her address?  Additionally, if you know anything about filing lost item claims with Canada post, it would be helpful.  I'll be out $50 in goods and postage if the parcel doesn't miraculously appear.  The buyer does seem to be quite experienced and has lots of positive reviews, so I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding.

Thanks!

Trader & Shipping Support / How to identify a rerooted pony?
« on: July 23, 2013, 12:34:29 PM »
Good morning, ponies,

So I recently got a comment back from a purchaser explaining that while the ponies I sent her were very nice, two of them appeared to be rerooted.

The problem is, I don't actually know how to reroot a pony.  I really kind of wish I did, since it's gorgeous some of the results, but my one attempt to do so with a curved quilting needle (really.  Don't ask) resulted in lots of bandaids.  And the ponies that she believes to have been rerooted I actually bought ages ago at yard sales, but that's just my word.

So... how can you tell if a pony is rerooted, so that I can advise potential buyers of this beforehand?

Good morning, ponies...

So I sent out a parcel on May 14th by surface mail to one of my buyers, and it still hasn't gotten to her yet.  We're both pretty concerned at this point, since according to CanadaPost, surface mail is supposed to take 4-6 weeks (I'm not sure if that means 28-42 business days, or literally 4-6 weeks...).

If anyone has any advice on how long it should take, or how to find out from the postal system where the parcel might be at, how to get the money back from the postage system, or anything vaguely related to this, please let me know.  The buyer seems rather new at this--she sent me payment in the wrong currency at first, and confesses that she's had some difficulty recently in getting packages delivered from international locations--and I'd really like to help ensure she doesn't have these difficulties in the future.

Thanks, ponies!

Pony Corral / Help! Has anyone ever seen a YELLOW bib before?
« on: July 09, 2013, 08:57:05 PM »
So, umm... I have this weird bib that's just like the ones that came with the original baby ponies, except it has yellow-striped trim similar to the material used for the Playtime baby brother bandanas.  You can check it out here:

Anyone know where it comes from?

Off Topic / Yard Sale Pet Peeves
« on: July 07, 2013, 08:00:20 AM »
There are very few things that unsettle me, but yard sales bloopers are one of them...

1.  People who leave up their signs so that you bike five km down a street only to discover and empty driveway

2.  People who set up signs ALL over the city, without arrows... so that you go down a street assuming the yard sale is there, only to realize that it's 15 km away.  In the opposite direction.  Umm... you do realize people don't have googlemap implanted in their brains yet, yah?

3.  People who maliciously set up yard sale signs that lead to dead ends in the middle of corn fields.
I grew up in the yard sale capital of Ontario  :lookround:  It happens.

What are your yard sale pet peeves?

Hey there!

So, I found a Josselyn at a Thrift Store... except she has a 'Feelin' Fancy' type lace pattern over her rump, and I always thought she was a blank flank.  And she's very definitely a Josselyn and not a Chantilly.  I was wondering if this was a known variant, or if she's a factory error.

Help would be appreciated :)

Off Topic / How Hasbro makes action figures... cool link.

So this has less to do with ponies and more to do with ninjas, but I found this article kinda cool:

Reminds me of the Big Bang Theory episode where Raj and Howard decided to buy a 3d printer...

The Dollhouse / Is there such thing as a SSC community?
« on: April 10, 2013, 03:55:42 PM »
So...

I've noticed over the years that MLP collectors are really organized.  Like, ninja-guerilla-troops organized.  We have amazing collecting sites and forums and social networking and conventions...

So I'm wondering... wasn't SSC just as big as MLP?  And if so... where are all the SSC collectors?  Do they have some very secret forum in the backroads of the cyberspace where they all hide out?  They seem to be a very elusive and secretive breed...

The Dollhouse / PC: Strawberry Shortcake Flat Sheet and Hurricane Lamp
« on: April 07, 2013, 07:10:18 PM »
Hello!

So, the flat sheet seems to go for around $10-20 ish on Ebay, but I'm not sure about the hurricane lamp.  It doesn't seem to come up very often, so I'm not really sure what appropriate pricing is.

You can see them here:

So, a couple of my purchasers have contacted me that their parcels haven't arrived yet, and while the 4-6 weeks predicted for postage to get to Europe has not yet elapsed, I'm still concerned that they might be delayed somehow.  Additionally, the tracking shows them as stranded in Mississauga and classified as 'International Letter Mail'.

If anyone has heard anything about any delays, please let me know.  Thanks!

So, I hate the Canadian postage system.  It's absolutely stupid.  It would (theoretically) cost me more to ship from Windsor, Ontario, to Detroit, Michigan (a distance of one km, since the cities are joined by a bridge), than to ship all the way to England.

I think I have it bad.

So I'm looking for all you international pony folks to cheer me up by telling me all your postage horror stories

*slight edit* Thanks~PonyLady

Pony Corral / What do you do with your 'Cancer Ward'?
« on: March 14, 2013, 08:40:44 PM »
So... I'm a G1 Purist, with a capital P.  I hate passing up on G1s, I hate seeing G1s that are damaged, and although taken aback by the beauty of some of the customs produced by our artists, I do admit I prefer those that don't use G1s as a base.

To try to prevent Cancer Ward ponies from being a problem, I likely spend more time on them than I do most of my ponies.  They all go through bleach baths and boilings.  Still, no one seems interested in buying Cancer ponies, outside of customs... and it seems a shame to customize a pony that would be perfectly mint, except for cancer.

So... what do you do with your cancer ward?
