Ok, so I bought an otherwise mint Twisty Tail. BUT, she has a blob of glue residue on her nose. I tried acetone, but that kind of made it look worse, as it lightened the edges of the glue blob a tiiiiiny bit. UGHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm hesitant to try anything else as I don't want to make her look worse, but the OCD is making me crrrrrrrrrazy. Has anyone had any success removing glue residue on their ponies? Any products that are good to use for this?
Thanks! Denise

I recently received Perfume Puff Lavender Lace in the mail. I am wondering how to clean her hair without losing the smell of perfume? Any advice is appreciated. Anyone else think their hair looks and feels like cotton candy? Which brings me to this: Cotton Candy TOTALLY should've been a Perfume Puff. That would make more sense....

Why are Celestia, Cadance, and Luna tall and sleek in form, yet the rest are shorter and chunkier? Is it b/c they are child ponies? Or are they like teenagers? And why are Celestia, Luna and Cadance the only pegacorns? Sorry ths is such a newbie question...

09/05/12: Added more pictures! Re-pinked Posey's hair, and deflocked SS Angel. Angel's left eye smudged a tiny bit in the black part, so I touched it up with acrylic paint.********************Original post*************** So, after reading and reading and reading, I FINALLY bit the bullet and tried my first deflock! It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, and I managed to NOT smudge any symbols or blush! So Soft Cupcake was my first victim, as her flocking was grungy and missing in areas beyond all hope of repair. I first removed her head and tail, then boiled her in Oxyclean for a few minutes and let her soak as the water cooled. The Oxyclean definitely helped, but I think I probably could've used the straight acetone from the beginning to remove the flocking and glue. I used acetone after boiling her in the Oxyclean to remove the remainder of the flocking and all of the glue. I even used it VERRRRRRRRRRRRY (and I can't stress that enough) gently over the symbols in a circular motion to "pick up" any remaining glue over the symbols without disturbing the paint at all. The eyes and blush were more temperamental, so I used rubbing alchohol and that worked pretty well to remove the remaining glue. I think with the acetone, you have to kind of use your own judgement as to whether or not to use it on symbols and blush. I could tell the symbols were not smudging, but the blush seemed to fade a tiiiiny bit, so I didn't take any chances. I also took some pics of a couple other restores that I happened to have before and after shots of. I have restored so many ponies, but I always forget to include BEFORE shots...grrr! Ok, first of all, I know this has probably been asked about 20 BAZILLION times, but I just keep seeing conflicting information online. After about 2 hrs of research, I am more confused than before. The method I would like to use is the acetone for body and Jasco for symbols method. However, there was no Jasco at Home Depot, as they no longer carry that name brand at my store. The employee there gave my husband an equal product with a different name: Klean Strip. I'm afraid to use it! I mean, it looks to be exactly the same as the Jasco on Unicornocopia's site, but of course it could be MUCH different in practical use! I've read several threads where paint stripper is mentioned - and the poster has stated that symbols were unaffected by the stripper.
Has anyone used paint stripper on ponies to deflock over eyes and symbols? Is there a trick to this? Let it sit, wipe off gently, etc? Or should I just stick to Jasco and go to Lowe's tomorrow in hopes they have it?
Thanks everyone!

Hi and welcome to my trade thread!
I have TONS of G1's and G3's for trade. I'm willing to trade 2 G3's for 1 G1 or even more G3's if the G1 is of more value.
I also have some other non-MLP items I'm willing to trade.
About the ponies: Some of these are clean, but most of these are from lots and need cleaning/hair combing. I have over 70 G1 ponies for trade and not enough time to clean every single one before taking pictures and then posting them. I have recently catalogued all of these with a brief description of their condition. The numbering is for my own purposes, and the descriptions are my own interpretation. I am VERY PICKY! My descriptions *MAY* make a pony sound worse than she actually is! I tried to be as accurate as possible, but I may have missed something (I had to go through 300+ and it got tedious after a while). I'd be happy to provide pics and more detailed descriptions of each pony upon request. ***************************************************************************************************** G1's: Baby Tiddlywinks #2 ...............................OK: missing first plug in forelock, forelock cut, eyeliner smudge on left eye, symbols good Baby Firefly #1 ........................................EXCELLENT: left side blush rub Baby Surprise #2 ....................................Good: tail washer replaced, faded pink from balloon on back left NBBE Cuddles #1 ....................................Good: pink highlighter left side, blue ink right side NBBE Cuddles #2 ....................................Excellent, minor playwear, pink hair

I do not have the tools or time to repair some haircuts on a few of my ponies. I also tried repainting Forget-Me-Not's left eye and after 5 tries with acrylic paint, I almost threw her out the window in frustration- which would've been bad for her as she's missing her wings! I also FAILED epically when trying to re-blush a couple ponies... Anyone on here willing to repaint an eye or rehair a couple of forelocks? I'm on Long Island but I could ship them out?
Thanks! Denise

Hi everyone!
Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I have a shipping question? I would like to make my items on ebay available to ship overseas, but I am not sure which option is the best? Since ponies are relatively inexpensive, and shipping is atrocious, perhaps someone on here can help with recommendations for which options to use for shipping from the US to, say, the UK?
I see that First Class International is the least expensive, but there is no delivery confirmation on that. Also, do you guys normally add insurance to your shipping when sending packages out overseas?
Any info is appreciated! Thanks, Denise

THIS: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginTwinkle Hope! I wasn't even going to buy the ponies in the thrift shop, as I am more into G1's and G4's now, but I felt bad leaving them behind. I had no idea what was what. When I got home, I went to my Favorites and the link took me STRAIGHT to Strawberry Reef's rare G3 page...and there she was, right on the screen. She is in MINT condition, with original curl and everything! I also purchased Cheerilee, Triple Treat, a pack of McD's ponies with wagons, vanity and chair, as well as a Strawberry Shortcake horse. This is my first real brag, I'm kind of excited. Hopefully everyone reading this is not like <YAWN> lol

I've noticed a couple people mentioning "Filly Princess" ponies on here. If not for that, I never would've noticed the collector's tin on the end cap at Target yesterday. They are going or $9.99 a tin, I think. Posting Just in case anyone might be interested...

How do you guys do it? I've tried it once before on Masquerade, and it came out great using chalk, but now I'm trying the same method on a Peach Blossom and it's just not absorbing? I've also tried acrylic paint with a q-tip bit it leaves a reddish ring and then it's empty in the middle, if that makes sense? I need some tips - I am so bad at painting and I've already spent waaaaay too long trying to fix this.
Thanks! Denise

But...what, exactly, is..."cosplay"? Is it just wearing costumes and pretending to be the character you are dressed up as? Is it for ADULTS out of the trick-or-treating age group? I really don't get it...do you do it alone? Or is it something you get involved in with groups of others who dress up? I have to admit, I think normal is boring, and I definitely gravitate toward more unique and quirky spirits - but this whole cosplay thing has me scratchin' my head. And I mean no disrespect to anyone on here who does this...but inquiring minds want to know. It's just if I was in my room dressed up as Sora or Amidala, and someone walked in, they'd be checkin' for where I'm hiding my meds...just sayin'....

So....there was a thread about a Long Island pony meet on the archived forum, but I think it was sort of forgotten since it was first started by Behemoth, I believe. And someone offered to have it at their fire house???
So any NYers out there still interested?? And as much as I would love a pony meet, I really have no idea where to have one, nor am I good at coordinating these things, LOL. I just figured I'd get the ball rolling again....

Hey everyone! Sorry if I am missing this somewhere, but I can't seem to find a centralized thread for cleaning/restoring ponies? I remember a link on the archived site with a few threads with different cleaning techniques, and these were invaluable to me as I started out collecting. I'm still no pro, and would love it if we had a centralized thread or even a forum for cleaning questions and help, etc.
Thanks! Denise
