Yet another thread where I'm unearthing the stuff from my home. A few years ago I have inherited some old money, both paper and coins. Since I'm in Serbia, there is a huge variety of money in there since the states have been changing almost constantly in the past century. I think I have some that are worth quite a bit, either because they are really old (1890s) or because they are from the time of world wars. I will be selling these things but I need to find out what they are worth first, and I need some reliable source that I can trust.

I've started on ebay but would like to have something a bit more stable :)

So,.any conaisseurs here? Or anyone who knows anyone who knows a good page or a forum for this?

Off Topic / 80s Love-A-Lot Care Bear PC and care info
« on: May 06, 2013, 01:58:32 PM »
I've had this bear since I was born and I love her! I would liek to know the best way to clean her up (she's really dirty) and also if she is worth anything to collectors?

She used to be a backpack and has a compartment in her back that contains a stuffed heart cushion

Pony Brag Arena / Childhood grails and many more! Thank you Seraphia!
« on: April 15, 2013, 09:00:29 AM »
Seraphia contacted me one day about some of the ponies (more like, almost all!) on my wishlist! Turned out she had quite a few, many of them my absolute grails since I was a wee little girl. They are finally here and I have to say, I am absolutely blown away! I still can't exactly get myself together! Not only did I get these amazing ponies, but Seraphia included some extras! What an amazing person :worshippy:

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for everything, and especially for being such a fun person to chat with, this whole transaction has been a joy and one of the reminders of why I love this community and this hobby so much!

Without further ado, here are all the beauties that will be cherished in my collection :)

Off Topic / Let's talk sports!
« on: March 31, 2013, 02:51:13 PM »
(sorry if a similar thread already exists, I just don't remember seeing one)

So, as some of you might remember I recently started playing Ice Hockey and tomorrow is the beginning of Women's Ice Hockey World Championship in which some of my team mates are participating :) So, naturally I got all excited, but most of my friends and family are not too interested in sports :P So i turn to you!

Do you like sports? Do you, or did you play any and what? Are you a big fan of a particular sport/person/team? Let's hear it ^^

I took after my dad in being a very sporty person my whole life. Sports that i've played include Athletics, Volleyball, Softball, Badminton, Archery, Synchronised Figure Skating, Speed Skating, and now, my favourite of all - Ice Hockey!
I've competitively competed in Badminton (silver medal in women's singles at the national level), Speed Skating where I represented Serbia in a few competitions before i got bored of it (NOT a fun sport to do imo :S) and now Ice Hockey where i've been playing in the Icelandic league ^^

As a spectator I used to be a huge fan of football (soccer), especially the Premier League, however, recent events in my home country, where the sport clubs and football fans have become very prominent (in all the worst ways) have literally made me sick of football :(
I also used to watch a lot of winter sports, mainly Ski jumping, but I no longer have the patience for it :P

And since i'm very proud of my team mates that are representing Iceland, here is a picture of my team from our last game a few weeks ago - we won the silver medal  ^^ Here's to hoping we actually win the championship next year :)  (I am in the upper left corner in black)

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying a local MH lot but I know next to nothing about them so could you help me out?
I would like to know who everyone is (which version of which character) and a PC for them, to see if the lot pays off. Also, is there a good page with IDs and accessory references for MH?

Thanks!

Pony Corral / Need help IDing some accessories! (pic heavy)
« on: March 28, 2013, 10:09:46 AM »
Ok, so here are some tricky ones.

First off, the ribbon I got with SS North Star. I failed to find a good MOC picture of her so I can't confirm that it's her original ribbon. It is a pastel blue colour

If it's not hers, any ideas whose it might be?

Next are these princess picks. I tried to capture their colours, but basically the right one is more orange and the left one is more pink (they are lighter than they came out, especially on the second picture). Who are their owners?

Then this comb. Did it only come with the Sea Pony Beachcomber or did it come with someone else as well?

And finally, this ribbon whose colour I completely failed to capture. It is a dull pink colour, not as orangy as it looks on pictures. I am convinced it came with my childhood Baby Buggy, but all the pictures i keep seeing of complete Baby Buggies have a purple ribbon. Mine was the European NBBE version, is it possible this ribbon came with the set?

And as a bonus, I just want to confirm that these two ribbons are not MLP? They are more than twice the length of my other ribbons although the quality and the structure do seem like MLP

Off Topic / Help IDing some accessories :)
« on: March 28, 2013, 09:56:48 AM »
Hey guys, I need help IDing this stuff.

The blue chair says Mattel, but it looks to be a bit too small for Barbie?
The white rectangular piece says TOHO on it
and I think that the yellow band with basket might be a MLP G3 accessory but I had no luck IDing it.

Any help or comment is appreciated!

Off Topic / Do you let your cat/s go outside?
« on: March 21, 2013, 10:40:42 AM »
So, this question popped up in many cat-related posts and I thought it would be nice to have one topic dedicated to this.

I grew up with cats, and despite my distaste for it, my family always let them go out as they please. I grew up with this being the standard.
When I moved to Iceland and got my cats, everyone expected me to let them out freely, like most people do here. It took me a long while to let my first cat outside on her own, and I was so incredibly stressed that I just couldn't do it. Since then, people have been treating me like I'm some sort of a criminal for not letting my cats go out (I have 3 now).
This of course bothers me because I know how many cats here get hit by a car (cars are a big problem here for many reasons) and also, my cats get so much attention and love every day, that I really don't believe they feel trapped.

However, my ever brilliant mom realized that one part of our garden is perfect for our kitties, so we fenced it off and now they can go there when the weather is nice outside, so we found a middle ground :)

I would love to hear people's opinion on this. What do you do? What is usually done where you live?

Some pics of my solution:

This is the area we used. We put the grass on it (the floor was made of concrete) and eventually put nets between the pillars that are sticking out on top of the fence

And this is our kitties enjoying themselves

Pony Corral / I was wondering - G1 related...
« on: March 16, 2013, 12:56:33 PM »
Maybe i'm wrong, but i've noticed that there is a tendency for ponies from later years to be more expensive than the ones from earlier years. Like, most ponies from years 1-4 are quite inexpensive and easy to find, whereas many of the ponies and sets from later years can be quite pricey.

Or am I just delusional? Any ideas why that is?

Customs / Need some common donor tails!
« on: March 11, 2013, 01:52:32 PM »
Does anyone have donor tails for the following ponies:

Glory
Cotton Candy
Tootsie
Banana Surprise

They would make my ponies really happy! :)

I myself have a Baby Moondancer tail if anyone needs it?

Thanks!

Pony Corral / Pony slip of the tongue :P
« on: January 22, 2013, 10:25:02 AM »
So, I was talking with my husband today, after browsing the forum. We were deciding where to take our newly adopted dog for a walk/play. One of our favourite places is a special island here in Reykjavik that is completely dedicated to dogs (thus called the dog island). As we talked I kept saying that we should go to the Pony island! I checked myself the first time, but I didn't realise that I kept saying it constantly!
So yes, now it has officially become known as the pony island in our house :P

Have you had similar things happen to you? To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised it hasn't happened earlier to me :P

For Trade / Common G3 trade page?
« on: January 11, 2013, 12:54:31 PM »
Would anyone be interested in trading for common G3s?
I love G3s and there are plenty still that I miss, but I also have some extra G3s. So I thought we could use this page to trade these lovely ponies. You could all post those G3s that you want to get rid of as well as a potential wishlist.

I'm personally interested in any G3 I don't already own so if you have some lying around, and you'd like some of mine, let me know :)

Great condition:

Off Topic / Lion King connoisseur needed! Is he really so valuable??
« on: January 09, 2013, 05:05:30 AM »
So, I have a plushy toy from my childhood of Simba and recently I found another one for sale here and bought him out of nostalgia. However I decided to downsize and would like to sell him now. By googling  I found this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LION-KING-Plush-Floppy-BABY-SIMBA-stuffed-doll-10-long-Disney-1993-Mattel-RARE-/380530069614?pt=TV_Movie_Character_Toys_US&hash=item58995c106e

needless to say my jaw dropped! My two boys are exactly like this and in absolutely great condition too! Are they really worth this much? Can you give me some more details on this particular toy? And, of course, let me know if you're interested ^^
Thank you
