this is something that is constantly on my mind ![Cheerleader :cheer:](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/cheerleader3.gif)
in terms of base ponies, i think i'd make the style somewhere in the same vein as like, G2 meets G1. a few people have very similar ideas that i do earlier in this thread, notably there being sort of that "timeless" vibe that toys like calico critters and LPS have. absolutely no molded hair whatsoever, the whole pull of MLP as a toyline is they are BRUSHABLE HORSE DOLLS!!! hair play would be a big theme. ribbons, brushes, barrettes, that kind of stuff was always very important to me as a kid. for like, the first release, it would basically just be like year 2 of G1 (core unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies - i'm thinking 2 of each race to make a 6-character "series 1" line) as the line would go on there would be oh so many gimmicks, G1 reborn basically, so softs, twinkle eyes, flutter ponies, large styling ponies, glow n show, the whole ordeal. there being so many different types of ponies from my mom's childhood collection is what made me accustomed to G1 as a kid. additionally, with blind bag toys being huge on the market (lol surprise eat your heart out.), i think a blind bag baby series would be sooo fun. i'd like there to be codes on the bags, though, so collectors could know what pony they're getting (and also maybe with each bag inside there would be like, a little piece of paper that says the specific ponies' code so kids could go to the store and not like. get 10 of the same pony) also for a line introducing baby ponies, it would be like that of the original G1 babies (kin of existing characters), but instead of being carbon copies of their moms but smaller, i'd like there to be creativity in their designs. e.g., Firefly has a baby, baby is more centered around storm clouds and has a similar, but different color scheme. Twilight has a baby, she's more centered around the moon, and so on.
i also think big "yearly" themes are super fun - like one year the big theme could be princesses and there would be playsets and things to go with that, and then one year there would be a disco/dance theme and so on. and of course a bunch of little mini themed lines, i love what lol surprise is doing with their licensed candy tots, like can you imagine little candy themed baby blind bags?? it would be sooo cute.
spin-off lines as well would be pretty prominent. i imagine equestria/dream valley/whatever isn't just ponies. i love love love lil' litters and would wanna do spin-offs lines in the same vein as that. (and maybe i'd put a focus on the bunnies...)
in terms of a tv show/media, building off of what G4 had going in the first two seasons is perfect. the appeal of G4 to me was while there was amazing story building and such, there were also silly fun episodes that you would imagine a show about pastel ponies would have. while i like when there's a solid core cast, i'd like episodes to be more like G1 where every pony gets their time to shine. but, if there were to be any "core" cast, it would be that first line of basic ponies. and trust that Gusty will be included every chance she gets!!! i'd love for Megan to make a return, maybe instead of Firefly spontaneously running into her, she falls into a magic portal while exploring with Danny and Molly and boom they're in ponyland and everypony's just like oh! what are these creatures?! i have my own thoughts about backstories and lore but i could go on forever with that so i'll stop myself there lol. but in general, it would be much more toy focused, like, i don't know...how a toyline is supposed to be...(i will get every chance i get to shade g5 sorryyyy) and there wouldn't be any of that "hey let's rerelease the same 7 ponies just slightly different every year" stuff that they loved to do in G4. there would be hundreds and hundreds of characters. i'd imagine that would be the smarter thing to do, if you're a toy company looking to milk parents for money...but hey what do i know! but yeah, thematically very similar to G1, the show would be more akin to G4. also, many returning characters with redesigns as well as new characters. i'm a sucker for nostalgia - there is no way i'd let Gusty, Applejack, Firefly and Twilight escape my generation lol
