Sorry for all the topics lately, I’ve just been doing a lot of thinking and reorganizing myself!
So I’m moving into working more on making this into a side income and I’m wondering about people’s experiences in selling rehairs vs full customs? As I’ve been organizing my baits, I’m noticing quite a few with only minor flaws, especially among my G3s. I also have a lot of G4s and rehairing or just doing a rehair and symbol swap is a lot faster than doing a full custom with FBR.
What have other customizers experienced? Is there a demand? Should I pursue it? Thanks in advance for any responses!

The general consensus is that if a pony needs a rehair, it should be left up to the buyer to decide what to do. I don't think there is much of a market for rehaired G3s. However, if you're going to change the symbol as well, I'd call that a full custom, and I don't think you'd have a hard time selling.

Lachlana vintage on instagram gets a ton of attention on her alt-rehairs! I feel like it could go either way...outside of her I don't see many people straight up selling their alt rehairs. I'm sure there's some market for it, because I tend to be more interested in alt-rehairs myself than full customs.

^ Her ponies are gorgeous! But she adds all that bling to them, they aren't just rehairs imo.

Depends on the person.

I was only doing some ponies in my own collection that needed help.. of course I won't do that to all of them just the real baity ones... the one with a missing ear and the one that had fading plastic.... I wanted to bring them back to life in my own collection... I think it was good practice for me to do them. now I have 3 ponies in my baits box that need to be re-rooted and I'll put them in my collection. they are pretty much good ponies until you see that they have no hair...
one of my g3 i'm selling needs a rehair but she has 4 kinds of color i'm leaving that up to the buyer (who ever buys her) if they want her re-rooted or not. so I stated it right in the post... Maybe she is too expensive but I figured that hair colors are 4 and some odd cents each. So it would have to be a $15 to $20 job but I said I would sell her for $15 if I would do that... so i knocked off quite a few dollars and yet she still sits...

I've had no trouble selling both alt rehairs and full customs - the full customs will generally fetch a higher price, which works for me, the full customs are more work.
