I love watching doll customizing and face up videos and I’ve wondered multiple times about using pastels and watercolor pencils to do ponies like many doll customizers do with dolls.
Does anyone do this or has anyone tried it? I love the soft blended look that these doll customizers achieve and I’m planning to play around with it just to see.

ive been using a regular pencil to sketch markings, so i assume you shouldnt have any problems with it!

I've used pastels before for blush. Had no problems.
I've been wanting to get some watercolor pencils to do realistic horse coats. I'm sure they'd be good for eyes too.

I haven't personally tried it on ponies yet, but I do it on dolls and I'm pretty sure it'd be exactly the same. You just have to make sure you're using a workable sealant like MSC flat.
I'm planning on doing it with my next pony custom, so maybe I'll report back after I've started that!

I have seen people using water colour pencils to do symbols and eyes, it looks beautiful :)
Personally, I have used water colour pencils to do face ups on dolls, but not tired them on ponies.
Love pkw xxx

Ohh that’s an interesting idea!
Well I’m just going to try it and see how it works out I guess. 😂
