just got word that a collaboration between La Vidriola Jewelers & Hasbro is happening, set to launch in a few days on their site. and it's themed around G3 for once! what a nice holiday present. i've never heard of them before til now, but seems they're based in Spain. a word about them from their site:
"We are a fun brand that makes acrylic jewellery with original and creative designs of limited edition. All the process is handmade with care and love in our studio in Spain to all the world."
there's a sneak peek of a few items in their "coming soon" section, but I'm not sure yet if that's all that'll be available. what do you think? if you wear jewelry would you buy any of these?
i really love the minty earrings, RD necklace and the last item with the pony in the clouds (not sure what it is but a friend said it could be a pin?)
i'm looking at their prices and prices seem to be pretty expensive (in euros), but they do a lot of limited runs. not sure how much these'll be retailed at.

This came up in my suggested ads on Facebook. I was excited to see G3 get some attention, so I checked out their other pieces for an idea of prices. Unfortunately, not in my price range, but I will be excited to see what anyone else gets!

Awww these are so cute! Not my thing personally, but I'm thrilled to see G3 finally getting some love in the merch department! :3
Anyone recognize the pony in the last pic? She looks familiar, but I can't place her.

These are adorable! It's nice to see G3 getting some love.
I grew up with G3 throughout my earlier childhood and yet, them being referred to as "retro" feels strange, they don't feel that old to me. I do suppose that they're a few decades old now.

These are so cute! Not really a jewelry person though and the prices are a bit high for me so i definitely wont be getting these, but its nice to see g3 get some attention for once. Hopefully this is a sign g3 will get more merch in the future.. also seeing g3 be called retro toys makes me feel old lol

I guess the G3 generation are now old enough to be targeted with retro merch :)
Kind of depressed to see Dash and Pinkie in there, like Hasbro can never get away from them. There are other important/popular G3 figures that didn't get regurgitated into FIM vomit, it would be nice to see that variety. Sparkleworks, SunnyDaze, Kimono...?
Minty is obvious though if it is Tangerine Twinkle, or whoever it is, it's a bit out of left field compared to the others!

Received my items yesterday! Very cute and very big. You also have to be VERY careful. The "care" instructions on the product listing weren't kidding saying that these aren't allowed to touch... well, anything. :lookround: I was able to smudge my "Tangerine Twinkle" pin. I think I can clean it off but you have to be VERY VERY careful! The listing says "no body oils" which makes me think... why is this jewelry in the first place if you can't even pick them up with your bare hands? :what:
I've also learned that shiny acrylic is difficult to photograph...

Thanks for sharing a pic of yours Ragamuffin! It’s a shame they are so delicate…just by looking I would honestly assume they could take a pretty good beating! Is it heavy? From the pics they look like they wouldn’t be super comfy, but hopefully I’m wrong about that!
I love jewelry and I’m thrilled to see G3 getting some love, but a lot of these are much larger than anything I’d usually wear. If they were cheaper I might buy one anyway to wear if I feel daring, but at that price it’s kinda ehhh…I do love the collection on my shelf brooch though! If they go on sale I may spring for that even though I’m not really a brooch person.
Their other collections are pretty cute too! I’m actually obsessed with the Home Alone Pets collection, the jewelry in that set is SO precious! The crocodile dentist necklace is epic too haha! Again…if I had the funds I might spring for that one! :P

What is it made out of? It sucks that it's so delicate especially for the price! I still want the Play-Doh necklace but I wouldn't actually wear it, I'd just set it on display :P

Thanks for sharing, Ragamuffin! It's so pretty! But I agree that it doesn't really make sense to make jewelry that can't come into contact with skin without being damaged. Glad that you're overall happy with your purchase. :)

thank you so much for sharing ragamuffin! sucks to hear how delicate it seems to be. :huh: perhaps adding a protective coat on top of it would help? though for the price point they have them at you'd think they'd have something like that already. such a cute necklace, why la vidriola? lol
though the price point/quality isn't the best perhaps that'll make for more affordable, better lasting G3 merch down the road, i hope :) gotta start somewhere i guess

Mine arrive tomorrow... I'm very distressed to hear for their price point that they're that delicate :huh: Feels like a bit of a rip off imo.
I'm gonna take one for the team and attempt sealing one of my pieces with some UV resin or something and report back.
