Title: Disney +
Post by: Ponyfan on June 09, 2022, 06:38:21 AM
Hi,

I'm looking in to getting Disney +.  I have Hulu also, but I don't watch it that often.  I know Hulu sometimes has a bundle deal where you can get Disney + at a discounted price but I'd rather just sign up for it separately and not deal with trying to combine the 2 services.  Is it possible to do that?  One reason I don't want to bundle both is that I've read there's issues sometimes with Disney + when trying to get the discounted price.

Sure, just go directly through Disney+. I have both and they're separate. They will bug you about combining and getting something else (StarZ or something) along with the bundle but all you need to do is decline.

Thank you, BlackCurtains.  I'll be signing up for Disney + soon.  :)

I didn't think I'd use Disney + that often but I've found its over taken a lot of my other viewing apps!

I love Disney and think I will find a lot on there to enjoy.  Also, I'm a little tired of the extended "Watch it on Disney +  ads on most stations that I watch.  I was looking at the FAQ today and it looks like Disney requires the same email and password across all their sites?  I have an email and password for Disney Store online /Shop Disney so I'm assuming I'd use the same for Disney +

I signed up today. :D  Now I have to figure out how to watch on the Smart TV.   We have a Samsung Smart TV in the living room and one reason my mom wanted me to get Disney + is so we can all watch it together.

My payment for Disney Plus should be due soon.  I've checked everything with both Disney Plus and Paypal and it looks good.  All of my other streaming services come out just fine with no problems but so far I haven't gotten a notice from Paypal saying they've sent money to Disney Plus.

Edit: It looks like Disney Plus charged me exactly 1 month after I signed up (even the time the payment went through matches to when I first signed up) . It went through just fine. :)

woo!  I found that Disney+ actually had a lot of content I enjoy.

we watch the 80's cartoons from Disney Channel, the Simpsons, all the new Disney PIXAR movies like Turning Red...
lots of sitcoms if you liked those as a kid!

National Geo also comes with our subscription, don't know about yours... but that's great for mindless virtual tourism :)

I think it's neat Nat Geo comes with yours. Would much prefer that over ESPN.

National Geo comes with my Disney + too.   I love to watch Dr Pol.  Yesterday my family watched the new Rescue Rangers movie.

Today I found out Disney + has the Dinosaurs TV show. :)  My family used to watch that all the time.

It has the Dinosaurs show? With the Sinclairs? I loved that show and have some of the toys. I never even thought about searching for it  I love Disney plus. I only got it to watch the new Star Wars shows, but realized soon that there are so many awesome shows there. I probably use Disney more than all my other streaming services.

Do you mean the Dinosaurs show? I didn’t think that would be typical for Nat Geo since it’s fiction?

It's not on Nat Geo. It's on Disney+.

Been watching Quack Pack on Disney+ lately. Never got to see much of it in its original airing if at all. Also enjoying the new episodes of Raven's Home that were just added^^

the Dinosaurs show with the Sinclairs is Disney so its on Disney plus, but someone was talking about how nat geo was on their disney+ subscription
Disney owns Nat Geo so they include it along with Pixar,Marvel and Star Wars along side disney stuff.
I just worded it weird i think.

Is anyone else having trouble with Disney + today?  We've always been able to get on through the Smart TV app but today it won't work despite the TV being connected to the Internet and everything else running smoothly.  I just tried to get on the website, and it came up although I didn't try to log in there.

Worked just fine for me. We've had times it hasn't worked on our TV before though. If it continues would recommend calling customer service.

That happens to me with Hulu sometimes. It won't connect but Netflix will work. It's a Smart TV too. I think sometimes the app just freaks out for some reason.

Thanks everyone.  I haven't tried the Disney + app on the Smart TV today but will probably try it again tomorrow. I've been wondering if maybe there were too many people on yesterday when I tried to log on through the app. It was later than I usually try to get on.  The app on the Smart TV had been working well until yesterday.   There was a tiny glitch in it the last time it worked.  The episode I was watching paused for few seconds but fixed itself and the next episode played fine.  I've read that deleting the app from the Smart Tv and redownloading it works sometimes.  I don't want to do that though unless I have to.

I tried the Smart TV app today and it worked just fine. :)  It must have been an issue on Disney's side.

Is there anything that isn't on Disney + that you wish was?  I'd like to see the animated Lucky Luke films on there. I know they weren't produced by Disney, but I think they distributed them in the US during the 80's and early 90's., My grandparents had both on VHS and I enjoyed watching them

I'd like to see House of Mouse, the Aladdin tv series, the Wuzzles and the Tarzan series on Disney+. Would be cool if they put Fluppy Dogs on there too. Saw it once a long time ago when I was a kid.

I loved House of Mouse.  I'd be excited to see that on there and Wuzzles too. :)  I had a couple of Wuzzle episodes on VHS and a plush Hoppo  I still have her somewhere.

I'd also like to see Welcome to Pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus.

Gummi Bears? Was that Disney? I would like to see the Wuzzles too :)

Yes Gummi Bears is Disney and is already on there and I forgot about Pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus. Had one or two episodes of each one that my grandmother taped for me during a couple of Disney Channel free preview weekends back in 1993 along with two video tapes filled with Disney channel stuff and I loved them. I noticed Adventures in Wonderland from that time period is already on there.

Somewhere at my parents house there is a VCR tape with the Fluppy Dogs one hour animated tv special that we taped off the tv. For those who don't know, Fluppy Dogs was a tv special made and aired just once, Thanksgiving 1986. It was supposed to be a pilot episode for a new animated series but the ratings were so low that the show got cancelled. The merchandise though was widely available in stores during that time period.

Aladdin the animated series was pretty good and I really wish they would release that as a DVD set as well as the Little Mermaid series. I had hopes they would after they made the dvd sets for the rest of the early Disney Afternoon line up, but alas no.

Do the Fluppy Dogs go through some kind of magic portal?  I think I remember seeing parts of it.

I'll have to add Adventures in Wonderland to my watchlist. :)

I get overwhelmed sometimes trying to find/add things to my watchlist because I can't think of everything that I want to search for.

I have the DVD sets of the original Ducktales but if I remember correctly there's a few episodes missing that were supposed to be on the last set that never got released.

I thought of something else that's missing from Disney +.  Those Dtv music videos. :)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fc_OVCt9aAQ

Anyone else having issues with Disney + today?  My Internet went out for at least an hour on Wed. Today was the first time I tried getting on Disney + since then.  I followed the directions on Disney +.com for logging in on a Smart TV. After I put my email in, I got a message about a passcode sent to my email.  Somehow the next screen got stuck and I couldn't enter the passcode.  The 2nd time it worked and I was able to watch Disney + on the Smart TV.  I don't get why I had to change my password unless it has something to do with the Internet being out for so long.

Anyone having issues with Disney + today?  It's extremely cold where I live right now and although the Internet connection is still showing good. sometimes it's going extremly slow.

I was on Disney + earlier, but when I tried to stop the episdoes were watching and go back to the main screen, something went wrong.  When I got back to the home screen, only a few things were on there.  When I tried to log out on the Smart TV none of the settings would show up.  I was finally able to exit the app, but I don't know if I'm logged out or not. I did log out on my phone but I just tried the app again a few minutes ago and it says "Something went wrong. Try again later" or something like that.

I'm not sure if it's my internet or the Disney + app.

I might say yes to this if Fillmore EVER gets put on this service, no DVD OR VHS at all unless someone taped the series it is pretty much lost media.

I taped the whole series when they reran it over here some years ago! :) Isn't there a bootleg copy of it online somewhere? :o I hate that Disney buried it, it's such a good show.

Anyone having problems today?  I just tried to log in through the Smart TV and got a message on the phone (because I have to log in on the phone using a code on the TV) that my email wasn't recognized and to double check it and if I forgot my password to reset it.  I know my email and password and used them last week to get on without issues.  The payment is paid up.  I got error 82 which I think means that the severs are overloaded with users?
