Title: Bouquet needs your help
Post by: MimicPower on December 15, 2020, 06:04:08 AM
Hello, everyone!
My precious Bouquet has some unidentified pale orange markings. She was in the box for many years (body was not in contact with her hair) and I discovered these spots a few days ago. From your experience ... are discolorations caused by bleeding hair? or age spots?
Do you think they can be removed?

Could be either, really, but the shape looks like hair to me; if her hair wasn't in contact, perhaps she had them before and you just didn't notice? I'd try a Magic Eraser or other melamine sponge (such as a "Miracle Cleaning Eraser" I'm pretty sure comes from Dollar Tree); if that doesn't work, I'd cover her eyes, symbols, blush,  and hair, slather her in hydrogen peroxide cream, and let her get some sun. I'm pretty sure Bouquet can sunburn, so I wouldn't omit the cream, which helps not only prevent sunburn, but reverse it as well. You could also dunk her hair in some vinegar to seal in the color, but I don't know what that'd do to the texture.

Echoing this looks like hair bleeding. Age spots tend to be browner.

Thanks for your opinions and advice! You are wonderful  :hifive:
Magic erasers don't work but I'll try with sun-light fading.
