I’m curious. I bought something from someone in Australia and now they’re asking me for additional info that I either already provided on the shopping service and additional info like my phone # and email to fill out custom papers to ship my package? Is anything other than my address needed so ship packages out from Australia?

A lot of countries do ask for contact information on a custom form, in case there's a need for the US customs to contact you about your package at the border. It's unlikely that it will be used, but it's also a formality for some shipping companies as well - particularly courier companies or if you use a particular type of postage (ie EMS is one of those, from Asian countries).
...I can't speak for specifics on Aus. but it's not uncommon for those details to be requested.

I'm sure an Aussie will be along to help you out!
For now I will let you know that US customs forms for shipping abroad do have lines asking for a phone number and email address, but they aren't actually required. So I wouldn't be surprised if the Australian form does, too. I think it is just to help with any customs issues that come up, so they can get in touch more easily.

I would give the information in case its needed as a precaution, they're not totally unusual to include.

I'm no expert, having only done this once (quite recently) but they do ask a lot of questions & I'm not even sure I answered all of them...
