Hello everyone,
Here's a fun question. Which rainbow hair pony set do you prefer.
I prefer the second set for it's bright colours and pretty mane.
I also like the cutie marks better but I wish they could have stayed on theme with them.
What do you prefer? Or maybe you don't have a preference.
Please let me know. :)
Cheers,
Luke

That’s a hard one...I love both Sunlight and trickles so I will have to say I do not have a preference.
-
Conflicted because Windy was my first ever pony but I always loved the second set hair colours ><
-
Flutterbye is my favorite Rainbow pony but I like the first set better overall. I think the ponies are more iconic, I guess.
-
Love them all, & can't believe you didn't include the Rainbow Curls in here too...
Multi-coloured hair rocks socks!!!
In the old collection I had Skydancer, Parasol & Wedding Bells Confetti. The last one was second-hoof but had her dress & possibly her veil too...
-
First set. The second set are just multi-colored.
-
Probably the first set, they’re all classics. And Starshine <3
-
I voted for the first set, but I like both. I like all ponies with multicolored hair. I guess the first set holds more nostalgia, because they were no longer on the shelves by the time I got into ponies as a child, but I had friends that had them, so I knew of them and wanted them, and their unavailability made them all the more desirable. As an adult, I have all from that set except for Starshine...hope to have her too someday.
-
I disliked the 2nd set as a kid because "their hair isn't ACTUALLY a rainbow, those colors aren't in a rainbow", lol.
These days I like both sets, but I do still like the first set much better.
-
The first set is far prettier to me. I love them all. They were the first G1 set I completed.
-
I love both sets but have a preference for the first. Skydancer is one of my most beloved ponies. Yellow is my favorite pony color and her green birds make me think of faraway and wonderful places.
-
The first set, without a doubt. They're all in poses that I really like, and Windy has a special place in my heart, as one of my favourite childhood ponies.
-
Tough one. I think Starflower is the prettiest pony ever, and she has always been the queen of my herd. But I also really like the first set as well.
-
I like the second set better. Mostly because I like their poses more.
-
I prefer the first set by far. I like the pastel colors much more over the weird colors of the others, they're just too bright and the mane doesn't feel like a rainbow to me?
-
The first one because Parasol looks adorable and Skydancer had a cute voice in the Catrina special.
-
Chose second because I adore Confetti. Tickle and Flutterbye are also great. But I also really like Parasol and Sunlight.
But Confetti wins out over all!
-
Set #2: I like the more vibrant colors. Pinwheel and Starflower are my 2 favorites among either set.
-

By that logic you shouldn't have liked either set because 4 colors a rainbow doesn't make. A rainbow should have 6 or 7 colors. I don't think we had a proper rainbow haired pony until G3.

It wasn't the number of colors that bugged me, it was the color choices (especially the chartreuse and salmon) and the color order.

Moonstone and Starshine are my favorites from the first set and Confetti, Pinwheel and Starflower are my favorites from the second set. :D I also love Flutterbye.

If only we could have commiserated in 1984/85! I was very bothered by the order of the colors. I also didn't like the bold body colors. Now I think this set is absolutely beautiful and am enjoying the Basic Fun ones, which to me are the most like-the-original set they've done. I think the first set though is truer to being RAINBOW ponies, and yes they are the more iconic set.
I LOVED that Rainbow Ponies came with a brush AND a comb!!!
-
I must vote 2nd set for now, never seen such delicious groovy color combo like that on anywhere before...
First set is nice too. :satisfied:
-
Wave 1!! Wave 2 has never screamed "Rainbow" to me.
-
First set. I prefer pastel to neon, and while I like Flutterbye, Confetti, and especially Tickle, the other three don't really do it for me.

The pink/yellow and pink/blue do mix and make it seem as though there's an orange stripe in the mane and a purple stripe in the tail. So that is the full rainbow represented, even if 2 stripes are illusions.
-
I don't really have a preference, I like both sets :)
-
Hmmm. I like the colors of the first set more but like the poses much, MUCH more in the second set. I guess I'll go with the second set!
