I have her. She was my last of the TE's to acquire and my favorite.

I absolutely love her, but could probably never afford her, unless she's started commanding more reasonable prices lately. If there were ever to be a repro Mimic, I would be in there light a lightning bolt though. That colour scheme is just so beautiful!

I have one. Her horn is slightly broken at the tip, otherwise she's great. That's probably how I managed to get her!!!

Same here. I'm not ready to pay an outrageously high price for her, but I do love her pose and colours. I would love a BF repro!

Unpopular pony opinion here: not a fan of Mimic :shocked: She's definitely unique though, I appreciate how special she is and I love how much our little community embraces the weirdos for each set! <3

Pass Mimic is okay but I don’t like her in that pose.

I have her from childhood. Not a favorite but I like her. Makes a cute couple with Barnacle even though as a kid she was always a male. Most of my ponies were second hand and she must've been too because there is "$1.50" written on the bottom of a hoof.
I once found one in a thrift store with a name written in black permanent marker on her DS. Ended up selling her but never have found out if they were able to do anything with her.

I like her colors and how unique they are. I hate the pose, and I would have preferred her as non-twinkle eyed.
Not a pony I would seek out specifically, but I would pick her up if I saw her at a reasonable price.

I’m also not a fan of Mimic *dodges fakies* :throw: if I found her at a yard sale or thrift store I’d pick her up, but I wouldn’t actively seek her to add to my collection.

I’m more of a G2 collector, but I like collecting G1s from the original series (which I watched in French as a kid wondering why it wasn’t G2 ^^; )Her body always came across sickly and pale to me (which is ironic because I think the only episode in which she showed up from the series had her deathly ill xD I do love her hair color combination and her symbols. If I could afford her I would definitely get her.

I'm a fan of green and djungle themed things, especially with birds, so yes, she is lovely! :)

Pass. Her actual color seems to be yellowy-white with a hint of green. I don't like her pose. Her prices are awful. She's got pretty hair and eyes and I like her symbol and name.
If she were green, affordable and on a different pose then yes, I'd probably grab her.

I picked army because I have 3 of her (1 is complete, the most I spent on one is 5$) because I think for her that might count as an army?

She's really cute and I'd probably save up and splurge on her if I didn't have her. I can see why some people would not have a preference for her, but I think it's great such a unique pony exists!

I love her colors, both body and hair, and I actually do like her pose. There just aren't enough green ponies, in my opinion. I'll probably never get her, since I'll never pay what her going rate is, but she is a grail on my list! I wish they had made a non-TE version of her...I'd be willing to pay more for her if they had.

I do love Mimic. Not a fan of the pose, but her striking colours make up for it. I'm lucky enough to have her. Am with you in the wish that they'd made more green ponies.

I'm a big Mimic fan! But I don't have her.
I heard of her as a kid and had know idea what mimic meant. So now every time I hear the word, I think beautiful green unicorn.

I absolutely love her colours when she still has a pink streak and metallic eye. But I'm still unsure about whether I'd buy her and I always seem to find other areas of my collection to work on. I'd like a custom one day I think. Possibly a baby.

She's certainly very striking and interesting, but even if I had the money, I wouldn't spend that much for just one pony, her prices are absurd.
I remember reading a post on here at some point that said she's not actually as rare as people think she is, and her price was just driven up by demand. Anyone else know the post?

She's just not my style! I think she's overrated. :P Now mind you, if one fell out of the sky and into my hands... then yes I would keep her. But that's the only way I'd own a Mimic - I don't care to look for her, she doesn't appeal to me.

I didn't know she was that expensive! I don't have her but I won't look for her in that price range. Otherwise I'd love to get her, she's a cute pony. I like the tropical colours and don't mind the pose

Mimic was my very first international trade.
I remember this so well because she was my first.
She arrived on the 17th November 1997 from the United States of America. I was fifteen. The whole trade was arranged by trade and it was 6 months before I could reciprocate (IN PERSON) when the trader was visiting family in the UK (note, my parents entirely knowing and supportive and involved in all of this process xD).
I had been warned she wasn't in great shape, but actually, she is. She just has ink on the base of her feet.
I had no idea she was expensive or valuable or any of that. The trader just said, "She's a little bit harder to find, but if you don't mind if she's not perfect, I know someone who has one for sale".
I traded a Gypsy for her. This was back when Gypsy had only just become known to international traders and all of the UK ponies sold for higher prices. Gypsy was particularly sought after back then, and to be honest, in terms of release, rarity, etc, I STILL consider Mimic and Gypsy to be about the same, even though I am fairly sure Gypsy doesn't match Mimic's prices any more.
I saw the Golden Horseshoes for the first time aged 13 and fell in love with Mimic from that moment.
It was only later that I understood that she had this "online aura" about her xD. It's been there more than 20 years, so I don't suppose it will change soon.

I am lucky enough to own her. She was the last pony I bought as a kid, when my family and I drove down to Disney World in...1992 I believe. From some random store on the way back, I still had money left over that I had to spend :lol:

Well I have her :)
And her story is that I found her on Ebay USA with BIN for a great price in 2010. With only a few spots you would have to look good to see them. When I paid a vulcano in Iceland has errupted which made flights not possible because of a huge ash cloud. So I had to wait until that cloud has drifted away before the seller was able to ship her.
I was very happy when she arrived :) The seller was also so kind to put a bag of stickers from an Argentinian album in it.

Want her, TEs are a set I want to complete eventually. I'm sure since she's the priciest of the bunch she'll likely be the last I get my hands on. It's a shame she is so pricey, I do genuinely love her colors and wish she costed less. Love bright ponies!

I love Mimic's colours, her vibrant mane looks great against the dull green of her body.

Same answer as many other people! I love her, not because she's "rare" but just because she's lovely. However, because of her price I will probably never own her. :|

I do have her. Shes a prety one. I like her parrot symbol. I always giggle when I go to the webpage "church of the mimic." I just love that unicorn pose I wish there were more of that pose. My mimic was a gift also.

I painted many thin layers of craft acrylic upon her body. At one stage she was too yellow (I made a post about it and published progress photos, it was agreed that her colour wasn't quite there yet, so she was repainted more greeny. :lol:

I never would have guessed! A lot of times it seems like painted ponies come out shiny (at least in photographs), but she looks like she came out of the factory this color! You are quite talented. :biggrin:
