Title: Throwback - 2014 Fakie Contest!

We have had some amazing artists here over the years.  I stumbled upon these gems as I was going through photos.  I did not write down the artists though ><

Do you remember these?  If so, do you still have yours?
Hasbro category was for ponies based off of Hasbro molds.

I LOVE these!!! And that spider is just amazing!!! I'd love to see the process of that one!!! So far my only Phony Custom is the Newborn Phony turned into Waggy the dog to offset all the cats I've acquired.

Hasbro
#1 - NoDivision?

Non-Hasbro
#3 - GotBunny?
#7 - JoshPonyPrincess?
#8 - mine :P
#10 - Uninu?

A few others look really familiar but I can't quite pinpoint the artists. Was the contest held on the old Arena or here? If it was after the move we should be able to find the thread. :)

My sister TwistedRiver made a couple of these! The Hollywood custom and the rocking horse with button eyes and yarn hair.  :biggrin:

I’m so glad you posted this! Omg, so many flashbacks... there were so many beautiful entries!! I wonder how many of the artists are still here? (I’m Hasbro 8 and non-Hasbro 13, I still have both of them! 13’s head keeps falling off! XD)

Hannah mentioned this thread to me so I had to come peek.
My girls were Baby Hollywood (Hasbro #5) and the cabbage patch fakie rocking horse (first of the two non Hasbro #9s)
I do still have both but sadly they both need a little tlc when things aren't so crazy. I remember some of these customs a lot but sadly I can't help with artists as my memory is not very good and though I remember quite a few of the ponies I have no hope when it comes to names.
I remember this contest was a lot of fun to take part in and all the entries blew me away with how creative they were.
Hopefully the others can be identified as well as everyone did such a great job on their customs.

That's awesome, BC! I did a quick search yesterday and was able to find the original discussion thread but not the voting one.

I should've recognised Salli's work! And Roogna's. I almost got babyblueducky too but it was one of those "it's right on the tip of my tongue" moments. :P

Looks like I voted for Snapdragon (#13 non-hasbro) and NoDi (#1 Hasbro). :D But everyone did such a great job, these transformations are pretty awesome!

Yeah, I found the original thread too but when I looked at the participants list and saw I was on it (and knowing I did not, in fact, participate), I knew it wasn't useful :P

I still have those fakies I was going to use though.

I remember these!  These are really awesome to see again!  Some of these are super creative.  The camel!  THE SPIDER!  Amazing.  I really like Hasbro entry #7...so simple yet beautiful.  This might be how I first learned that there were Crumpet pose fakies out there, actually.

Roogna, I remember loving the little nose-horn on your non Hasbro pony!! They really are lovely customs, I'm sorry that she hasn't sold yet for you! Offhandedly, I feel like there was a bit of a custom 'boom' awhile ago, but now the scene seems quieter? Or am I just out of touch? :P
