We didn't even go to church this year, but we had an easter cake and I even got a chocolate bunny! (it's all gone now, though)

Ours was pretty quiet compared to other years. Usually we host my husband’s family and my parents, sometimes my aunt and uncle too. We had our Easter ham meal yesterday because my FIL had to work today due to his new schedule (which he hates).

We made ham, lemon pudding pie with graham cracker crust and Cool Whip topping, smoked wild turkey legs, and cheesy hash brown potatoes. My mom brought Snicker salad and deviled eggs. My MIL brought macaroni salad. Our group was less than 10 and we are still in contact with our parents on a regular basis. So, we only celebrated with them rather than extended family too.  My aunts and uncle did drop off some Easter goodies for my daughter too.

We also dyed Easter eggs yesterday with our yearling daughter. We hid eggs for her this morning and had her stuff from the Easter bunny. Otherwise, we just relaxed at home today. Oh, and I watched our church service on FB live. I am glad I caught it because my uncle was playing guitar and singing for Easter.

My contribution to Easter ususally involves eating lots of chocolate eggs. I don't celebrate and instead offer to work more as lots of bankholliday days means twice the pay. However, this year we were closed on those and I only got four hours on Saturday so I've read lots of books instead, played some games and watched some movies. The usual stuff I do when I'm off :).

Our Easter has been great, except that of course I have to be sick. I'm usually sick on holidays (including my own birthday!), I have no idea why. :pout:

Anyway, other than that we had (and still have) a beautiful Easter. :D We obviously couldn't go to church, so we attended all of their services online. It's kind of strange like that, but it was still wonderful! Of course yesterday we had a big Easter brunch, which I always love to make. After the big brunch it's mostly eating monster loads of chocolate and enjoying spring. :P

I actually did take some pictures!

I don't celebrate Easter. For me it was just a day where I did laundry and got some terraforming done in Animal Crossing.

My husband and I have kinda fallen off celebrating holidays for the past couple of years, but I always try to do at least a little something.  Yesterday, it was painting rocks with Easter/spring themes, and in the next few days we'll hide them around the neighborhood for people to find. :)

This is the first year there hasn't been any Easter candy in my house.. we can only carry so many groceries on the bus, so space is reserved for necessities, and casual trips out for goodies aren't exactly kosher right now.

I "celebrated" by buying 50% off Lindt chocolates today :P
I don't believe in Jesus or Ostara but I do believe in chocolate bargains.

Any and all holidays mean people yelling at each other and a messy kitchen with food I can't eat.

If I ever live alone, I'm never celebrating anything.

Yeah, I bought the heck out of clearance Easter candy yesterday. I stash it in the freezer and if there is any left by next Easter, I don’t have to buy more at full price. It’s amazing how well it keeps too. My husband thinks I am nuts because I do this after most holidays because it’s way cheaper than buying full priced of the same stuff that isn’t themed, especially for baking. I load up on Hershey Kisses for peanut butter blossom cookies and M&Ms for monster cookies. It’s interesting that most other holidays it seems that it is harder to find the good stuff afterwards on clearance but after Easter there seems to be a ton left comparably. It’s hard to find leftover Reeses Trees but you can find loads of Reeses Eggs.

Dang it...now I’m craving one. The only draw back to having them in the house, especially when one is trying to lose weight.
