Hello everyone,
Another restore question from me. Hope it doesn't get to tedious.
I recently won a so soft pony surprise in a giveaway on instagram! I was and am so happy that i won. She is almost mint. Aside from her yellow colour that is. I've tried bleaching her but it did nothing.
Is sunfading helpful? Or something else I've missed?
I would love to hear from you how i should lighten this pony from yellow to white.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Luke

It may depend on the reason she’s yellow. Her chartreuse hair can bleed onto the flocking and stain it. It is patchy or even? It could also be the glue that holds the flocking on is what’s yellowed. I know I’ve personally had luck with whitening toothpaste and cold water but that was for a chocolate stain on a Scrumptious.

It's definitely yellowed glue, should have mentioned that. Thanks, I will try that.

My Taffy is in the same boat, but toothpaste didn't make her whiter, nor did hand soap or dish liquid... I assume it's the age of the glue...

Yellowed glue is a tough one! I’ve never personally tried to tackle it but hopefully someone has a solution for you!

Start by washing the pony in cool water with Dawn dish soap and a soft toothbrush. Pat it dry, then groom the flock with a soft dry toothbrush. If still yellowed, you can dry a diluted bleach bath, or an Oxiclean bath, or sunfading.
There's good info on this webpage: http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/body.html#SoSoftPonies

Be careful, don't let any of the cleaner get on her hair!
I believe the tried and true method is soft scrub? But that was ages ago
