Title: Dental Treatment
Post by: Artemesia's Garden on April 05, 2020, 06:22:09 PM
I think I might have to go have emergency dental treatment for a cavity. Dentists are only doing emergency treatment at the moment so I hope everyone is looking after thier teeth... having to go out to the dentist in this situation is a completely different story to how I usually feel about it!

Good luck if you go - I'm sure the dentist will be taking all the necessary precautions to make sure you're safe.

Our dentist isn't dealing with cavities unless there's pain or an underlying infection. All basic routine appointments are off but missing/needed fillings and broken teeth are only being seen if there's a health risk involved, or its very painful. I think they'd like to close completely, but obviously they can't do that as they are also a vital NHS service at the moment.

I got freaked out some time ago when I found some blood in the spit after brushing (although there was much less of it the second time) because I couldn't imagine developing gum problems when all dentists are likely closed, but luckily I never saw any blood after that. Must have just cut my cheek with chips or something like that.

Good news everyone - the pain has gone! I did have severe hayfever that evening and was waiting for my antihistamines to kick in, so it's posisble that the congestion was causing the pain and/or grinding my teeth while asleep due to the congestion. I've stocked up on some hardcore old-person style dental products though and will be taking very meticulous care from now on.
