Happy Thursday! This week we're featuring sitting pose ponies.

Do you have her? Your thoughts? Share some more pics!
If only... I really do like her a lot. Made a custom baby of her many moons ago.
-
I am a massive sucker for ponies that have hair a similar color to their bodies, and flower and insect themed ponies. If I found her at a flea market? Heck yes.
But I am not willing to part with as much money as she usually goes for in good condition. Fortunately for my wallet, Greek eyepaint is among my least favorite and while I don't hate the sitting pose, it's not my favorite.
If she was in the CP though, she'd be up there in grail status like the CP Gusty from Brazil.
-
Pass. She's cute but not cute enough for her price tag.
-
I mean, I basically want all ponies so she's not any different, but her price....
-
Cute, but I am not a fan of ladybugs and the price is just a double whammy in the "nope" factor.
-
Love her!! Her symbol is fantastic!
-
I love her symbol. It’s adorable.
-
One day Ill have her :)
-
Her colours are cute, but that price tag? nooooo thank you. :P Plus I don't really care for the Greek eyes... or ladybirds...
What's her actual name, Pashalixa or something? I remember Lambaditsa's name but I can never remember Ladybird's. Guess that's why Ladybird caught on as a name for her, hehe.

Ladybird is my fault, because years ago in the dark ages before there was the term Nirvana, let alone the Nirvana forum, most variants people unearthed ended up on my website (no wiki in those days, no other sites for variants either) and I nicknamed her Ladybird because of her symbols. I never said it was her name, but (like Bobbie) the name randomly caught on.
I believe her name is not actually a name so much as a title (like Easter Pony or something like that?)
-
I know you named her :P
oh, is this one an Easter pony too? Gah, I always get the finer details with her and Lamba mixed up. They're so similar.

What I meant was that back then it was much more common to adopt a nickname for an unknown pony than it tends to be now, as we tend to ask more questions. So any name from a pony identified that far back tended to stick much more than if you were going to do it to a pony now.
Someone else, maybe Shaz can confirm but I think the ladybirds are a play on the similarity between Greek terms for the bug and for Easter but I can't quite recall.
This one is a pass for me. Aside a handful of rescue greeks in horrible condition and a peachy who snuck in in an ebay lot at random a couple of years ago, the only Greek pony I have is yellow Medley, because she's Medley. And her colours are awesome. I like how Greek ponies look but not how they cost.
-
I have yet to meet a Greek pony I don't like, perhaps it's their eyes. I love their eyes. And she is no exception. However I only have one Greek pony in my herd. She is not that pony
-
She is my grail but I wont act on buying her because of her outrageous prices.
-
She's very cute, but Greek eyes aren't my favorite - and gooooosh the price tag. Maybe I'll make/commission a custom of her one day, who knows.
-
I would not say no to owning her, she is very cute :)
Love pkw xxx
-
I love her symbol and pose. I wouldn't own her because she's too valuable and I like to play with my ponies. However I am in the middle of a custom I should definitely finish!
-
massive big giant WANT if i had the $$$$$$$$ for her and her sister.
im really liking this weeks POTD ^.^
-
She's cute but I don't want her bad enough to pay what I'd probably have to. I will say I think she would look really cute re-done as a G3 custom.
-
Would love her as my fave, Lambaditsa, is a bit lonely atm being the only Greek in my collection. Lambaditsa was also my most expensive Pony to date, & my only FB purchase (before I gave up FB). If you feature Lambaditsa, I'll add her piccie
-
I wish!! She's so pretty! Something about her particular shade of pink is just so gorgeous
-
I'd love to have her. Cute symbol, pose, and colors. But I'd have to find her at a thrift store for $5.00 or something.
-
I would like to have her as she's so sweet but that would take a bit of saving haha
-
She goes for way more than I could possibly spend any time soon, but I would like her someday. I love her symbol!
-

I'm here :)
Paschalitsa's name is really interesting (at least if you like languages, which I do!). Pascha is Greek for Easter, so Paschalitsa literally means something like 'little Easter lady'. Ladybirds are symbolic of spring and Easter in Greek culture, so Paschalitsa is also the Greek word for a ladybird. In which case, Ladybird is really the ideal name for her :) (unlike calling Lampaditsa Birthday, which is totally wrong, grr )
I love Paschalitsa and Lampaditsa because they're just so Greek, if that makes sense. They both reference things associated with Greek Easter (ladybirds, Easter candles), they were sold in red eggs (another Greek Easter tradition). I miss the days when My Little Pony was so different in different countries: names were translated, local traditions were incorporated (like Fizzwhizz Night in the UK comics). I just find it more interesting than the global ubiquity of Pinkie Pie et al.
I would love to own a Greek Easter pony! But the prices are rather scary. Oh well, never say never! I never thought I'd have any Greek ponies at all but I managed to find two babies for acceptable prices :)

Yay :D Thanks for clearing that up :D

I couldn't agree more. It's the principal appeal of G1 over all other generations for me - that there is so much diversity and so much to investigate and discover...and no sense of uniformity. Even after Europe became more coordinated in around 1990, there are still differences. And ponies had their own regional names. Obviously including UK names.
-
Cute, but not $1000+ cute :P I made her a G2 custom version a while ago.

This. She is cute, but a bit too pink, I love her symbol though. Definitely not worth the money. I love the idea of a sitting pony in an egg, perhaps we'll see a Basic Fun release at some time? Probably not, but we can still hope. :)

Is it defintiely LamPaditsa & not LamBaditsa??? Just asking as the seller of my actual Lambaditsa was from Greece & I'm convinced she spelt the Pony's name wi the B. Definitely not a birthday Pony though. I have a G2 watch & candle set from Greece as well so I know the candle is a big part of Easter over there. So I believe Labaditsa's name would be more Easter Candle than anything if it were to be translated. I still call mine Lambaditsa though.
-
I never knew the meaning behind her name :O That's adorable, omg. I love it. Thanks for the info, Shaz ^^
-
Will never had her either!
-
I like her and she is cute with ladybugs but, I don't like her price and I doubt I ever get one unless it was a custom pony.
-
Ugh, I wish. She's so beautiful. Never going to happen though :(

Yay I get to ramble some more about Greek :)
The letter used in Lampaditsa's name is π, which is usually transliterated as p. However it seems that in Modern Greek π is pronounced like a b, so Lambaditsa would also be correct. This was news to me as I learnt Ancient Greek and the pronunciation of lampo as lambo doesn't seem to have come about until the fifteenth century (yes, I just starting researching this ).
Lambaditsa's name basically means "little candle", from lampada, "candle". It seems Lampri is another Greek nickname for Easter as well (I am learning so much today!).
For the curious, Ladybird's name in Greek is Πασχαλιτσα, and Candle's is Λαμπάδιτσα.
