I have a ponysona that's a TE baby and I'm not sure if I like the way the BBE eye shape is, it looks bulbous. Can I cut around it to make the socket bigger and where do I get gems? I want emeralds

I'd take a look at pinkkittywinks's customs, she has succesfully turned BBE babies into TE customs! ^.^

Yes, using a BBE baby as a bait to make a TE baby works well. I use a 6mm round chaton, I trim the sockets a little to make them bigger to fit the chaton. I found 5mm round fit the socket well with no need to trim, but looked a little small IMHO.
Here are Gingerbread and Quackers with 6mm round eyes.

I bought my chaton's on-line :) you can get every colour, so emerald green would be no problem. You must get foil backed though, or they won't sparkle.

Oh definitely. There are lots of talented customizers out there. Sunshine on etsy made a darling Baby Mimic for my daughter out of a BBE.

What sort of help do you need? I can give advice, but I am not currently taking on any commissions for the foreseeable future.

My bbe cuddles has a false eye. The other one was just rust so I popped it out and made one from fimo.

I can tell you an exact measurement, I just keep shaving a little bit off with a craft knife until the chaton fits. If you use a 5mm round chaton, you won't need to cut the socket at all, but if you use a 6mm round you will need to shave a bit off.
I secure the gems in place by filling the eye sockets with Apoxi Sculp, I smooth it down with a damp finger and then I press the chaton in place.

I’m working on my own Sweet Stuff baby pony, she’s going to have one gum drop (purple or Pink), I’ve got to find her eyes and try and find my milliput. Then her hair colour is going to be like her mum’s in the TV series.
