Title: Mexican twilight restoration issues
Post by: tornadoe on March 02, 2020, 05:08:47 AM
So I have this Mexican twilight pony. She's a unicorn with mane and tail cuts and her symbols are nearly gone. Hooves are blank.

I have very carefully painted her symbols back in with an off white paint so I can fully restore them later. The problem is she has off pink stripes in her mane but purple stars on her butt. According to mlpwiki she should have blue stars.

Is she a variant of a variant?

I cant fully restore her until I know what she is.

The Mexican Twilight variants in the (no longer working) Nirvana gallery have lilac/purple stars

The stars on the one shown on MLP Wiki look to be lilac/purple to me.

Perhaps some one who has the pony in hand can be of help?

The one in the top photo is close but mine isn't as pale.

I'll try to upload a photo but this hasn't gone well in the past

I just checked on mine, and yes, the lilac on the pink stripped one looks a LITTLE BIT blueish.
But that's really, really hard to tell.

Gorgeous pictures ColdRuru

The hair colour is really hair to pick a match too, all the nylon colours look too bright/strong to be a match. Perhaps you could dye some white nylon? Rite dye is very good for dying nylon or the old Dylon tins you could get (if you have any of those knocking about)

I was thinking dusky rose after it's been sun faded.

Problem is I had compiled a pony hair shopping list but lost it during the move to my flat.

The pink is a very pale salmon to me, but I'll be curious to see some brighest pink on a Twilight if you dare to change from the original tone

Also I found this, and id say the color of her symbol is like "gentian sw6817"

Wich explain why it can came "blue" on pictures

I think a faded Dusty Rose would be great :) It is such a pain when you loose shopping lists >_<

Ooh bright pink would be a change up as Cold Ruru!

That colour chart is really helpful. Seeing colours online is difficult, things look different on my PC, phone and Ipad. Also lilac/purples tend to loose their red tone first when fading, so they may turn up looking blue.

Pink Sugar is a nice colour, it is softer and warmer than the colour Tea Rose.
