Do you have a version of her? Your thoughts? Share some more pics!
I have two of her. One with lighter orange hair, the other darker. Guess the one with darker hair was released in Europe for the most part... Her Argie counterpart is pretty nice too!
-
I like her but she isn't on my wishlist. I think she might be too 80s for me. :P
-
Pass. I do not like this set.
-
I have her, but she's in rough shape I got her for free from another collector. Very dark oily looking stains in some spots. But she's the only one of her I've come across so she'll stay until I might find an upgrade.
-
She's wonderful! I love dark blue ponies, I've had her a long time since before 2002 though I can't recall if I got her at a flea market, antique store or goodwill
-
Have her and love her!! I love this vibrant mane color!
-
I have both the regular release ones now. The darker red haired one was my childhood pony. The other came from the US a few years ago. She had a diverted adventure through the post to get here, but she finally made it safe and sound. I like both versions but am not so keen on the Argentinian one.
She had two personalities in the UK comics, pre and post Tales. I remember she had some kind of skill where if she twitched her nose it was meant to make the songs of the butterflies or something audible (I think that was her, I may be confusing them as I had all four of this set new as a kid). After the Tales thing she had a different character in Melody's band. I have this feeling there was a story where she had stage fright or something...don't remember.
I love this set.
Fun fact- Tuneful is actually her UK name. Everyone uses it, but if you actually look at the US card, it says Tunefull. The UK card says Tuneful, with the single l.

Huh, I didn't know that. I mean, I knew her US card said Tunefull, but I didn't know the UK spelt it right. (I've never been clear on whether or not Hasbro US misspelt her name, or if it was meant to be "tune-full" as some have suggested in the past... I tend to assume "the extra 'l' was a typo" but idk for sure... are there any other official US documents that list her name? Catalogues maybe?)

Good question and I'd love to know the answer too. I think it might take the Hasbro catalogue since I don't think there's a named insert for that year in the US.
I only know the UK card spells it right because I started keeping my cards from 1992 and so I have my original one in my folder :)

(Note also "Rocking Beat. We're so very proper >.>)
You do wonder if the US name should have a hyphen. Mind you the Sundae Best set proves catalogues and final name decisions aren't necessarily fixed either.
It's possible that the US just couldn't copyright the proper word, so added an l to make it get through the net.
-
Do not want, and will not keep. Colours are horrible.

I could definitely see that being the case. I wonder if that's what happened with G3 Marshmellow Coco, too. She's the other one with an odd name spelling that immediately comes to mind.
Ah, I just realized I didn't answer the poll. I don't have her, don't plan to get her either. Somehow she's just never appealed to me.

Often wonder why G3 Lickity Split has an i not an e, and whether that was to do with copyright too - but I guess that's a topic for another discussion.
-
I like her, but she is just so outrageously 80s that she doesn't fit the general early years, pastel, rainbowy aesthetic my collection has going on.

Most of the most outrageously eighties ponies came from the 1990s. She's no exception ;)
-
I love the full-on 80s vibe. I'd love to have her one day.
-
Have her! I love her a lot, the bright blue color of her body is great!
-
Squeeee, Tuneful! Tuneful was my first pony, and while I'm not a huge fan of either bright orange, or medium blue, it's one of my very favourite ponies, and will always be super special to me. Mine has a bad haircut, no tail, and I always thought he was a boy. I'd love to have both the dark and light hair versions in nm condition one day :)
-
I have to admit I was pretty surprised when I first learned she was a unicorn!
-
I will get her one day, just haven't managed to so far
-
Love her. I have a thing for neon ponies.
-
I have to admit I was pretty surprised when I first learned she was a unicorn!
She predates the shift to MLP Tales narrative by about a year, so she gets away with it - but they basically had to remove her horn for the animation as none of the regular ponies (Glowing magical ones aside) are unicorns or pegasus ponies in Tales. But she had a whole other persona prior to being in Melody's band. I am more weirded out about how she ended up green in the animation, as I don't think there's any prototype for that....(there's the blue earth pony but not a green one...?)
-
She's amazing. Don't have her but want her!

I made a screencap from Tales.

I was surprised when I found out Tuneful wasn't a green Earth pony.

Yeah, her cartoon appearance always baffled me. The lack of horn I understood, the simplified/non-TAF symbols I got (they'd be a real pain in the neck to animate/keep consistent!!!), but what on earth happened to make her green?!? Did she take the phrase "going green" literally? Was there a miscommunication somewhere? Is there an even earlier prototype of her that we never saw? Hmmmm.
-
Have her and love the colours in this set always have done
-
Never had this pony before!
-

Who is that gorgeous horse in your avatar?

It's not just that she's green, it's the shade of green. Who chose her to look like that? :/

yeah, exactly!! How they looked at that and thought "yeah, that looks appealing" I'll never know :S Bright green would've looked much nicer.
(isn't there a Nirvana Rockin' Beat that's green, or am I getting mixed up?)

I like that green. She would have been the only Rockin Beat I liked if she was that shade.
-
I have them one of my favorites out of the set, her colors rock.
-
I have her. She was the last one I got from this series. I got her second hand from the US. I also have her Argentinian counterpart. She's green like in Tales (though a more bright green). I have been wondering if there's a connection there or if it's a coincidence.

Ah! I *knew* there was a green Tuneful somewhere out there!! It's probably just a coincidence, but it's a good one :D Do you have any pics of her?

I love that green Tunefull! She's so cute! :frolic:
-
Don't have her yet. She's on my to find list, even though I don't love this set.
-
I do have this girl. Shes all out in the 80s and the hair bands back then were wild. Like the rockin beats. :)
-
Got her, love her blue, wouldn't mind the green Argie either...
