Basic Fun is doing new ponies!
AAAAAAA time to get excited! As expected for 2020, they're letting out new ponies! So, we'll get the 2nd set of earths with
Lickety Split, Tootsie, Cherries Jubilee, and Posey
then
Heart Throb, Surprise, Gusty & Sparkler (Probably Surprise--but I cant find anyone with a photo of her)

I love bright white Gusty.
CherriesJ with the different hair color is interesting to me also. It's not like the one I have here.
I hope they correct Sparkler's hair color before release.
Tootsie seems more pale.
Heart Throb is too mauve I believe but I still think she is ok? Ish?
I think Cherries is my favorite from the set along side Gusty.

Gonna get super tempted to do an alt hair Gusty by buying more than 1...
I hope distribution is really good and all Targets get them all in nice quantities.
Remember:
BUY BF! Any BFs you get encourages them to make more & we will get ones like Crumpet, Mimic, and Quarterback / brothers AND flutters with good wings when BF continues to succeed. But they're going in chronological order because they have to. So get everybody in on BF to make them make the next set.

I do kinda want them all. Probably will get them all eventually. Looking forward to Sparkler the most but Cherries Jubilee looks so sweet and Posey with her bright pink hair is so darling and Heart Throb makes my heart throb etc.

Good to see they're making more G1s. I'm definitely picking up Gusty.
I'm still waiting for the So Softs and Twinkle Eyes. I want a pink-haired Wind Whistler.

I'll get Gusty and Lickety to replace my old, dirty ones. A clean bright Gusty will be nice.

I'd like a Posey with uber pink hair although it's a different shade. I'll be tempted by Gusty because she'll be bright white. Tootsie really stands out for me though, but I already have loads of nice Tootsies :)

I need Posey! I'm going to have to ask/beg someone to pick one up for me, or are they available on Amazon? Omg I feel so giddy, I've been hoping they'll release Posey. I'm so excited! :biggrin:

Sensible answer would be that cj and Sparkler are the most anticipated for me but realistically it will end up being all of them since the y3 earths are the most iconic of my childhood and the Sparkler set never arrived here in the 80s.
Want Powder though...
I am not sure atm about Heart Throb. This is one I have supermint from the 80s and I am not sure bf have her shade right.
I am fine with Sparkler hair but I am sad there are no curlies nor long enough hair to curl properly. These were special for introducing curly.

Edit: I'm a little disappointed that the new Earth Pony wave doesn't appear to have a plastic window/is just a cardboard display box.
The pics are from London Toy Fair, it's probably just a mock-up of the 'real' box. I'm sure they'll have plastic windows when they hit stores. :)

I have only just seen the aj wave in stores this week and only in those toymaster stores that have regularly been at the forefront. So they are around but may take time to travel. And toymaster seems to be the place if you have one.
I think it's a good chance we will have all of these here as it was our toy fair and I have been told twice in stores how popular they are.

I agree with this. I’m of the mindset that I’d like differences between the new and the old, whether in the hair or pose.

I like the subtle differences, too. Makes them easier to tell apart, and it makes them more interesting than 1:1 reproductions, too ^^

I also really love Sparkler's hair. It's such a pretty hair blend and I think it's nice she is a bit different from the original.
Going to have to get all of these of course! Really hoping they are able to do babies. A nice bright white Baby Glory and Baby Moondancer would be wonderful. <3

Yes, finally! They look great, as to be expected. BF has done a wonderful job on these. I plan to continue to buy everything they release. I wonder if they'll include Powder and Skyflier and if they'll release them separately like Pinwheel and Starflower. I wonder when we can start expecting them in stores?

i NEED Gusty, Lickety & Posey!!!!!!!!! :lovey: I wanted Heart Throb too but her current colour is so ugly :'( hope they fix it! i quite like Sparkler's two-coloured tail though :)

No problem. Back home Smyths started stocking unipegs (medley set) the moment their site said they were discontinued and same in friern bridge the other day so I am not sure there is a master plan. Just keep eyes open.
If it helps anyone the 2 stores I sae them this week were Sutton and Epsom...the latter had the whole set.

I hope my Target carries these. I have been a bit worried since the after Christmas reset at the Target I usually get ponies from because the BF ponies are currently hiding behind a tower of retro Pound Puppies. You have to actually look sideways at the shelf to see the ponies.

Ooh, Gusty looks beautiful. They are all beautiful, but there's just something about the white unicorns with the jewel-colored hair (Gusty, Moondancer, Glory) that I really love.
I am tempted to get Gusty and/or Posey.

It's definitely not as appealing but also definitely better and more environmentally sensitive (also more easily recycled).
As an added bonus- way less guilt to debox!

That's definitely not the final box, the ponies aren't even fastened in. ;) I think they'll have the same plastic clamshell as the other ponies in the line.

Oh I am excited to add to my ever so big collection of them! :) That is not the final packaging there. They are promo pictures taken of them. You can see where the plastic will be going into the box. The ponies are not strapped in either, they are just standing in the boxes.

Gusty and Sparkler cause I never had them as a kid and Lickety the quintessential G1. Honestly, any of these cause I want to support BF.

So excited for this wave Posey and tootsie so cute I'll buy all. I'm still holding out hope of basic fun releasing flutter ponies so softs and twinkle eyes in future

Yes I'm also super excited for T.Es I hope they get the colours and the eyes right. I might even consider re-hairing a few with the original quality hair. Not that I'm complaining!

As a side note that weird upside down world Applejack is already on Amazon in the US. It is available to be delivered in 2 days if ordered now. I remembered seeing it when I was looking for Bowtie for little B. I did also end up getting her the 5 pack of rainbow ponies because they were such a good price, though! They came today and she was thrilled!!!

But I think it's a secondary private seller. We'll wait and see what happens. The original pre-order that Glitterball got hers from was much closer to the US price you quote there only converted to £, so it might just be a greedy scalper out to shaft ST fans.
I already have ST AJ thanks to a kind US person and honestly, buying two from the US with shipping breaks down to less than the £30 Amazon UK is currently pitching her at.
To make it even more stupid, I just went through the US site to see what it would cost and apparently it costs (in conversion) around £14 for BF AJ to be bought from Amazon.com and shipped to the UK, which means you can actually buy two from Amazon.com and import them to the UK for less than the price listed on Amazon.co.uk right atm.
Not that I want to complain because the UK has had everything BF pony so far except AJ (and the special convention Majesty obviously) which compared to a lot of other places is really fortunate, but I really hope nobody is going to pay £30 for a £10 pony.

It is Hasbro, that was just my Amazon search result when I typed in 'My Little Pony Retro'. I was looking for where I had seen the upside down Applejack. Sorry for the confusion!
