I have gotten into sculpting recently and I'm making a Draggle custom figure. After going back and forth about whether to sculpt her hair or attempt real hair, I've decided to try real hair. However, I've never done this before, and I don't know what kind of yarn to buy. Like do some brush out into hair better than others? Does anyone here in the USA recommend a brand, especially if you live near a Joannes or Hobby Lobby as that is what is near me.
Thanks in advance!

I have only done a yarn custom once, so I'm not the ideal person for advise. I believe you need to choose an acrylic or wool with a clear twist that looks like it will separate. I believe I used a Lion brand acrylic when I did a perfume puff. This is a question that could actually be helped out by the doll community too. Try searching for yarn tutorials for dolls as well, and I bet you'll find more expert advise than mine.

I don't have a set brand, but I always look for yarn that is really puffy. Some types of yarn in the "babies" section fit the bill, or ones advertised as something like "think & chunky" or "thick & quick." Just make sure it's made of individual fibers and not one long strand.

I'd look for something like the kind of yarn you use for arm knitting. It's generally just roving with a tiny amount of twist, so you won't have to do a lot of de-twisting. :)
Otherwise, like skeen said, something puffy and with rather low twist will comb out easily. That might be both cheaper and easier to find, especially if you're looking for acrylic yarn.

i believe it's super bulky. I love doing yarn hairs.

I use acrylic yarn, of any brand really, and I've used different yarn weights, from dk (or sport?) for this girl:

Wow, a Draggle figure is going to be cool! I always liked the witches.
