There are too many G1s to start a proper poll, but I love to hear about the ponies that are the most special to others!
For me, it's
Star Hopper - my childhood pony
Glory - my sister's childhood pony, many pony games we played
Windy - the rainbow hair, plus the white windy myth makes her stand out to me
Gusty - I love her pose and design

Tex really has to be my all time favourite... I've had him since I was a kid, I just always adored him! There's photos of me climbing trees and stuff with Tex. He's really important to me - he sits at my desk always, when I move into my uni dorm he's coming with me.
There's some other ponies that I adore the design of, like sky-rocket and baby paws, but no one holds the same significance to me like Tex!

Lemon Drop - I adore her colours, and the collector's pose is super sweet :lovey:
Tuneful - my first pony, and "he" (always been a boy to me, and mine's got a haircut courtesy of Shai 5 years old... )
Peppermint Crunch - I love the sundae best set, and she's my fav out of it ^^
Steamer - my favourite boy pony, hands down. He's so pretty!

Near enough every G1 in the T.V series minus Twilight (Pegasus), and First Tooth Ponies (not Babies Fifi, Tic Tac Toe, Quackers, and Lickety Split).

The whole German rainbow set, particularly Sternenglanz <3 They've been my grails for awhile now. I'm also very fond of other rainbow ponies, like Wedding Bells Confetti.
The Sweetberry set also has some of my favorites like Blueberry Baskets, Cherry Treats, and Strawberry Surprise :) Sugarberry to, though she isn't in that set.

Wind whistler all the way! I love her looks, her personality and I think she is all around charming. Unfortunatley I dont own her yet 😅. For the ponies I own its seashell (first), baby blossom, peppermint crunch and the second wave of rainbow ponies. Especially pinwheel she is so gorgeous and fun. (Halfwas there :))

The 6 CP ones are my absolute favourites, since they started my whole pony craze. From them, Minty is by far my absolute #1; she was my first pony so she'll always be special. The ones I got after her before my childhood collection grew into a whole stable are special to me, too - Firefly, Medley, Sunbeam. Flutterpony Morning Glory was a gift from my sister, so she is on this list; I got Baby Cotton Candy from my late grandma, so of course she is one of my favourites, too!
Other than that, I am a sucker for the first wave of Twinkle Eyes, Rainbows and TAFs.

Glittering Gem... Pink, with lots of pizzaz. She was my favorite growing up. My taste has now matured to Punzie being my favorite...

Too many to choose, I have several. But some of the ones that always stand out to me are...
Medley. Because I wanted her as a kid. And they didn't sell her here. I thought she was so awesome, with her musical tail and her thunder drumming. And how she put up with idiot Firefly.
Mimic - I don't even really know why. I just was really taken with her the first time I saw her. I didn't know then that she was hard to find. But her colours are just so unique and I like her pose as well.
Brazilian Paradise - because she's as close to a proper Paradise as Hasbro made.
Movie star Magic Star - as a kid, my favourite pony because of her comic awesomes. I wrote lots of stories about her. The SS isn't the same to me - it has to be the movie star one.
Cherries Jubilee! I didn't even really like her as a kid though she was my third pony. Now I have a small army building.
Rainbow Magic. Because she's my wishing pony <3.
Princess Pearl = because the comic made me fall in love with her. I seriously hate what the animation does to her and her friends. Comic princesses are awesome. Animated ones need a slap.
Those are just some of the ones that spring to mind. I have hundreds of favourites for different reasons, but those are the ones I can think of right now.

As a kid in the late 90s/early 00s, I was delighted to have three G1s: Firefly and Cherry Treats were my first two, and then I rescued Beachball from a daycare. They were my Three Musketeers. Firefly and Cherry are two that I can never part with.
I also really love and could not see myself parting with:

Pretty much all of the ones I had as a kid, but I believe Magic Hat was my favourite back then. Majesty, Parasol, and Gusty also stick out in my mind.
Putting aside nostalgia value for a moment, I also really like Glory and Moondancer.

My childhood heard has to come in first (there's about 20 of them), but of them, Cool Breeze is probably the top favorite. Pearly Baby Moondancer/Moondreamer is up there too. My very first two ponies, Truly and Magic Star have to be up there also.

Spring Song is my #1 G1, and #1 pony overall!
Other big favorites of mine are Pillow Talk (absolutely stunning colors), Tic Tac Toe (another color scheme that really appeals to me), there's a lot more but I'd be here forever if I listed all my favorites. Those might be my top three though? At least top three that I own, delving into ones I don't yet have would make things harder, but those are my three favorites in my collection.

Tied for first place for me are Snuzzle and Sugarberry!
Snuzzle because I loooove soft grey, and with the pink hair she reminds me of pyjamas and is overally just so cuddly looking.
Sugarberry because... well she's just stunning to me. Her strawberry patterns is somehow really nostalgic feeling to me. I also love her red hair!

Wind Whistler, Fizzy, Paradise, Sweet Stuff, Galaxy, Firefly, Bow Tie, Gusty (but mostly her toy form) and out of those without an animated appearance also Speedy, Parasol, Majesty, Merry Treat, Pillow Talk, Sugarberry, some of the boy ponies (like Chief) and most Sweetheart Sister type designs.

Baby Ribbon - My first pony so of course she's my favourite :)
Little Flitter - My girlfriend's favourite childhood pony, who quickly became Baby Ribbon's best friend.
Baby Tippytoes - Known as Clover in our herd. What's not to love about a ballerina pony with poseable legs?
Wind Whistler - I love her personality in the cartoon. I also like her silly comic personality.
Goldstimmchen and Goldkehlchen, the German Sweet Talkin' Ponies - I just really love these two. They've taken on a life of their own since coming to live here. They're twin sisters who like to talk, enjoy baking, and have a crush on Barnacle.

I've always mainly been into G3s, and have just now really began to look more at G1s. Right now my favorites are definitely Streaky and Raincurl.

Those all all some great ponies! I would say my favorite G-1's are the candy cane ponies and the sweetberry ponies! Specifically Sugar apple, Lemon Treats, and Cherry treats. I love their symbols and acessories.

High Flier: My very first MLP. :3 She was second-hand, and I didn’t know her official name, so I called her “Dragonfly” because of her markings. She still sits on a shelf in my bedroom, amongst some of my most cherished toys.
Pretty Puff, Ruby Lips, Flurry (Petite Pony), and McDonald’s Ivy, Light Heart, and Sundance: the rest of my childhood herd (all, happily, are still with me today).
Tabby and Pink Dreams (flutter pony): because KITTIES! :D
Firefly, Rose Dust, and Morning Glory: because I always loved them in the cartoon.
G3 Sparkleworks: Gorgeous colors, and was one of my first G3s (I was in my tweens by the time G3 came around, but I was still thrilled to see it return).
G3 Starcatcher
G4 Nightmare Moon, Chrysalis, Changeling/s, and Tempest Shadow: because I wanted awesome villain ponies when I was a kid, and now I finally have some. XD

Raincurl, Swirly Whirly (with aqua hair) and Fizzy. The first two are my childhood faves and the third is my favorite color combo. I love G2 Ivy and G3 Minty for that same reason :biggrin:
But I also love the G1 baby ponies and newborns. They are so stinking cute, so chubby!
