It’s been a LONG time since I’ve been here so I’m sorry if this is a thing or not, but I was wanting to make molds off my Petite Pony collection and cast them in resin, both for making and selling as jewelry and for my doll collection to have their own mini collection. They’d be obvious customs in color combos that the originals did not come in. Is this something that’s being done? Or is there like a community consensus against them?

I personally have no problem with casting since it's for custom ponies. The only question I have is how one would hair with resin being a hard material. Is there soft resin?

There is actually soft resin now! But I was planning on using the ones with sculpted hair, not the ones with ponytails.

The ponytail ones should be doable as well. Petite ponies aren't soft to begin with, and as long as you're using a silicone mood you should be able to make a pony with a hole for the tail?
Then it'd be a matter of making the tail into a plug of some sort and securing it in there. :)
I say go for it! And don't forget to show us the results :)

I was just about to say that Shaiyeh! :D
I would love to see the process if you do decide to cast some. I have tons of mould making things and resin at work (art teacher) but I need ideas on how to utilise these for pony purposes...XD

There was someone that made resin petites but I don't think they do anymore. I've also seen half petite casts made into buttons and hair clips.
Good luck, sounds fun! :)

I like the idea of them! Would like to see some once you do so ;)

I'd love to see pics if you end up making these! :)
