I am conducting research FOR SCIENCE and wanted to see what the community's favorite G1 poses are (not including specialty poses like the Secret Surprise ponies or modified molds like the D&P's that were turned into earthlings). I'll post a separate poll for each of the 3 main species. I'm limiting votes to one each per species but please do feel free in comments to say if you have any thoughts or had to choose between two favorites.
I'm giving poses names based on really common ponies in that pose, not on "official" community-given names so people who aren't familiar with the poses but know the ponies will have an easier time of it!
Also please let me know if I missed any because I don't brain good sometimes.

The Locket pose is so elegant, with the Paradise pose a close second. :)

Wind Whistler for me! It's so goofy and cute. I like to imagine the pegasi are dragging their hooves on the ground as they zip around.

I voted for the Firefly Pose, but I also really like the Wind Whistler pose!

Surprise for me! I think it's beautiful. Plus Sternenglanz is in it...

This one is really hard but in the end I went for the Surprise pose. It was between that and the Dancing Butterflies pose, I like both a lot. I have come to love most of the pegasus poses though I am not a big fan of the Firefly pose with the moulded front leg. Still, I can deal with it, as one of my favourites - Medley - is in that pose. So long as it's not the abomination that is the altered mould for Peppermint Crunch, of course...

Locket pose. She and Dancing Butterflies are two of my favorite childhood ponies.

Wind Whistler pose. Bouncy is one of my favorite ponies. I like how she's on her toes and her mane isn't hard to "brush".
I'm sure I've answered this question before and put Dancing Butterflies' pose. :lookround:
Honestly, I love them all. But if for some reason we were told a new G1 pegasus was coming out, I would love a rainbow one in Bouncy's pose.

Definitely the Surprise pose, it makes the ponies look so sweet and cuddly! :heart:

Whizzers pose! The ponies look like they're just about to fly, but the pose still remains very simplistic.

Wind Whistler! It makes ponies look like they are hovering around. Lofty is a close second though. Looks like she's ready for takeoff.

They're the same pose and don't have official names. I just chose a pony everyone knows to describe the pose.

Whoops! Sorry, my entire knowledge of the toyline comes from My Little Wiki where WW is labeled as having the "Whizzer pose" and I always thought those pose names were official.

Nothing on the MLP Wiki is official. It's all the work of collectors putting together information and attempting to make things easier to understand :) (and there are also still quite a lot of errors or gaps in the Wiki because it comes from that basis, and nobody knows everything.)
Whizzer, Wind Whistler, Paradise, Bouncy...Tall Tales all share the same pose, and different people will use any of the above to describe that pose. We've never had an official system which everyone agrees on and recognises :) Pony stuff is a lot more fluid :D

I'm surprised Firefly is beating Lofty that badly. I see people complain about the boot on that pose a lot.

I chose the firefly pose because my first childhood pegs were in that pose :) wind whistler pose is a close second though TBH most of the peg poses are cute :lovey:

I love the shy pose. And Heart Throb is my favourite. It's like the pose was made for her. (I guess maybe it actually was since she was one of the first ponies in that pose)

fire fly. im sentimental like that, its the first mlp Pegasus mold i remember seeing as a kid and i was super excited they bought out Pegasus and unicorns. plus its an interesting pose. they look like they are about to take off. the mouth is open which is different and the pose is super cute and happy looking. next would be a tie between surprise and wind whistler.

I hadn't either until about 4 or 5 years ago. She's Venezuelan Starshine :) I loved the colour and Starshine is one of my childhood faves so had to get her :biggrin:
