Title: PC for a Giant Blank
Post by: WeepingPiano on November 20, 2018, 11:33:19 AM
Hello all,

It has been quite some time since I have ventured into the arena, but I think it is time to let other people have a chance to enjoy items in my collection that have been hiding in a box for some time...

Could anyone give me an idea of what the roughly 18" giant blank ponies are going for these days? It has a smidge of yellowing around its mane, but I have not taken the magic eraser to it yet.

Thank you for your time and attention.

You are talking about the G3 pony project blank correct.
I am curious which version you have. How many rows of hair does she have in her mane?
Yellowing seems to be more common in the first version so far as I can tell.

I don't know, but I might be interested in it. :) I've wanted one for a while, just they don't come up often (or that I've seen). I never knew there were different versions either.

Yes, it is the G3 Project pony blank. She has three rows of hair.

Ahh, I need one! I think the last I heard was $150-200, depending on condition, MIP vs non, etc? I'm sure they can go for more, just depends on the market.

She is the first version. I didn't realize there were 2 version till I got the 2nd ones and realized they were not identical.

There is one up on ebay now for $575 that looks to be a first version MIB.
I paid $250 for mine MIB when they first showed up on ebay after the first Pony Project and $200 for the version 2 that I purchased last year.
I don't often see them come up for sale. I think $575 on ebay is unlikely to sell but I think $250 is low.
They seem to be about as common as Ribbons and Hearts who I recently sold for $480.
To me $300 seems more reasonable given her rarity and popularity but that's just my opinion.

At the end of the day something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and what you are willing to sell it for.

Thanks all.
I suppose I will get her cleaned up, take photos, and list her for sale.
