Happy Wednesday, today's POTD is adult Gusty as we continue with ponies with green hair.

I have her, regular store, SS and the exclusive that's pictured.
Story time gather around, I ended up with a second of the exclusive whist at the goodwill bins... Was like a digging a gold mine of G1's in a bin that was just brought out one Saturday morning. A really nice lady that I had been talking with started throwing ponies at me, including this one which then went to my BFF who didn't have her. That was an interesting day because there were two other non-US ponies in with the group, that was 3 years ago...

I had SS Gusty as a kid, I got SS Gusty last year. She's always been one of my faves and her flocking is really soft, if a bit yellowed. I love her.

Yesss my favourite! I have a few different versions of adult Gusty (UK, US, Italy, Scandinavian) but always looking for more! (Well, at least once I start buying again, currently not adding to my collection at all as I need to figure out how to display all my ponies, half of them are still in boxes after our move here even though it was a couple of years ago already...) I thought I had the SS too but either my memory fails me or she's hiding in the box. ^^;
Glitter or no glitter, I prefer her with green eyes! :heart:
I also have some custom versions, G3 Cyber Gusty made by assassin_kitty (link) (http://fav.me/d2xpsfn) and a cute G4 ornament made by UrocyonFox in the holiday art swap a few years back. It would be fun to get more!

My regular version was the third G1 I found while thrifting, that was two years ago. My Goodwill use to have a table of small toys. That was the first place I always checked upon entering, no matter what I'd come there for.
There in the newly stocked pile (they'd just opened) was her and Glory plus baby Firefly. That was a case of "am I dreaming?" as I scooped them up. Sadly, the table is now gone and replaced with bagged toys (which never stay that way).
She was one I always wanted growing up, always reminded me of autumn.

I don't really like Gusty. The green and red hair is an eyesore IMO.
Also don't think purple was a great choice for her symbol.

Gusty is my favorite :hearts: She's been my favorite my whole life. She was one of my first ponies, if not the first. I picked army because I have a small army. I have 2 North American, 1 UK, 1 Italian, 1 So Soft (possibly 2, I think I found another at the thrift store but need to check my bin) and I have baby Gusty in the BBE, Play and Care and Brazilian.
I do not have a group shot since my collection room is still being sorted and organized but here are a few photos

I have Italian Gusty who needs a spa day and her head reattaching (going to use milliput to fix the hole where the neck attaches.
I want to get her U.K version so I can do Reverse Gusty.

I'm still looking for a Fable Gusty. One day ;)
I have the US year 3 one and the US SS. Both through trades. Also an Italian one. And I have the movie star one, which in a way is like a childhood pony for me as she came from my childhood friend's collection and I did grow up playing with her ;)
I like Gusty just fine but as I've said before, if it really was a toss up between Gusty and Ribbon for that set, I would have preferred Ribbon :/
If they count, I also have BBE Baby and play & care set baby as well...

The Gusty with green eyes and glittery symbols (regular year 3 one has aqua eyes and glitter, our UK/European movie star one has green eyes and painted symbols, so she seems to be the missing evolutionary step). People also call her Scandinavian Gusty but because she also comes from South Africa it seems a bit misleading as a term, and since the term fable is associated with the set in a couple of languages, it seems a better name (and cute!).

I really like Gusty. I always wanted her as a kid because I had BBE Baby Gusty. Now I have her, the glittery symbol one. Still need other versions. I also have a retro coffee mug with Gusty on it.
I really badly want regular Baby Gusty because I hate Beddy Bye Eyes. All the baby ponies that have BBEs and also have regular versions are high on my want list.

Yay Gusty! I hoped she'd turn up for green haired ponies week!
She's one of my all-time favourites. I have Movie Star Gusty, and, being from the UK, I think of her as "regular" Gusty and all the others as variants :lol:.
I have a hard time reconciling her abrasive personality in MLP n Friends with her sweet little shy unicorn pose, so my Gusty has quite a kind and gentle personality. She loves the theatre and books and is a bit of a romantic.

I have two with the glittery symbols and the BBE baby as well. The first one I received is pretty baity, but I have kept her because inside she has this note, which I found fascinating. She was sealed so it came from the factory:

I also hate her animated personality. It's so contrary to the kind and caring persona she had in the comic, looking after the baby ponies and being the ponyland nurse.

White unicorns can get away with having such contrasting greens and orange-reds. I can understand why some folks are not too keen on this combo, but it works for me - maybe because I was so used to looking at her pictures and reading about her in the UK comics when I was little. I would love to have a glitter-symbol Gusty, one day!
I did a re-hair a while back using "parakeet" green hair (slightly olive) to match her eyes and a cerise-pink contrasting strip in her mane! I think someone called her "watermelon" Gusty! :lol:

I have US, UK, NBBE baby & BBE.... I once had a really nice Italian who I stupidly sold in a moment of madness, and I desperately want a nice SS Gusty!!!! She's the last SS I need :cry:
