I've got another mystery: not really pink, more like orange body-colored Cotton Candy with regular pink hair. It doesn't seem to be discolored because the color is even over her complete body. Her hooves say Hong Kong (pat pend).
Any idea?

I think it still might be age related discoloration. If her head is loose and you can check inside her body, my guess is it will still be the normal pink color.
-
I think I may have seen a few like that. It may be discoloration or a batch difference. How orange is she?
-
Dark brownish orange. Really need to take a picture lol.

Is this a batch-difference or a variant?
-
It's just a color variation. :) My childhood Cotton Candy (Year 2 concave foot sold in the set with Bubbles, Applejack, etc) is the same color. She's always been that very dark shade, so it's not discoloration.
-
My childhood Cotton Candy is also that same color. :) I didn't even know that she was supposed to be lighter pink until I was an adult.

Yep, I've had one that was orange-y pink like that too!
-
I've also had one or two CC's that looked like this, so yet another vote for 'factory variation'. She's one of the prolific ponies when it comes to batch differences, and given the volume and number of years over which Cotton Candy was released it's not too surprising.

I've had a lot of CC's pass through my hands over the years, I don't think one was the same shade of pink... Yours does look lovely Nella!
