Blue pony is gay for Rolling Thunder. Yellow pony is supportive. I know there's a lot of people who would like to see an openly gay couple on this show, and it looks like Hasbro might be taking baby steps towards one! Now if only they had the guts to show Scootaloo's aunts :lookround:

I mean, lyra and bon bon were seen together at a restaurant in the background of the latest hearts and hooves day episode and there were also two stallions together, so it's not like it's the first time it was suggested.

This clip doens't provide much information about their romance/sexual orientation. They could be simply close and a bit eccentric friends.
Also, if the point is representing homosexual couples, Lyra and Bon-Bon (Sweetie Drops) are already doing this part.

The clip had the purple pegasus wink at the pony in the bleachers, who then swooned over being winked at. The purple pegasus is performing for the first time in Ponyville.
Nothing wrong with more lesbian horses!

All I know is that Spitfire attempting a "scared straight" tactic made me laugh really hard for some reason, and I may have pulled a muscle. Guess I'll end up in a full body wing and hoof cast, drinkin' through a straw.

I can see both sides of the argument as to whether or not the pony there is a lesbian or not. For the people who believe that the pony is a lesbian, I can totally see that as the female pony fainted when the other female one winked at her. HOWEVER, I can see the other side as well. It could've just been because it's a famous person winking at them, giving them recognition. Not everything has to immediately mean that the pony is a homosexual.
But overall, I think we're just over-analyzing this. It's a show made for children and this was most likely just a gag that wasn't meant to warrant this much discussion. Besides, if people want LGBT relationships to be seen as normal in the public eye, I think it's important we stop pointing them out and making a big deal about it. Yes, it is important to celebrate a big landmark in LGBT representation, but we're (the LGBT community) are never going to be seen as a "normal" relationship if every time two men are sitting together at a dinner we go "Look! A gay representation!".
I just don't think it's healthy to be making such a big deal about this. I also don't think it's healthy to immediately dismiss what the other side of the argument says. (This coming from an LGBT person.) This is all up to interpretation, and it wasn't even the point of the episode.
To me, it's a bit of a stretch. I don't exactly ship it but I'm not going to get angry at people who do. But that is just my opinion.

I was under the impression through the entire episode that the purple peg is a male. He's just like "metrosexual", or whatever the term is these days. A male that dresses nice and maybe is a little more feminine in looks, like anime guys. ;)

I kinda feel like this too. Everyone is going to interpret differently. Actually I think with stuff in general the vagueness is better because it allows people to see what they want there, and feel good about what they see overall.

I get a bit annoyed with anime shippers constantly trying to force pairings and so I can understand the frustration with OMG it must be a gay relationship when it could be just as easily interpreted as admiration or friendship or any number of different things which don't relate to sexuality.

BUT for kids/young people dealing with their own sexuality questions OR for people supporting/having friends who are grappling with those issues, it's not a bad thing that those ambiguous kinds of scenes exist.

I kind of have problems with people saying "IT IS THIS" (and no room for other interpretation). But I am fine with (I see it as this, yay!") whatever that 'seeing' might be. :)

If we go to G1 and possible LGBT+ representation in it, I've always kind of seen / headcanoned Sports Time as a transgender stallion. :D Or I mean, he is ALWAYS, in toys and in comics and was it even in cartoon, drawn or made with mare traits. No stallion pony hooves or such. No idea why, he just is. But he is still always talked of as a guy. It's made very clear he is a guy. So hey let me dream that's the reason he looks like all the mares.

Waiiiiiit... Scootaloo has aunts???  When did this happen?  Though I always have wondered where her parents are... there seem to be a lot of unaccompanied minors running around Ponyville.  Maybe her 'aunts' adopted her?  Also, does it ever strike you that Scootaloo herself could be seen as a pony with disability?  She's a pegasus, but she can't actually fly.

And I don't really see any canon proof for Lyra and Bonbon.  They just seem like BFFs.  I fully support any zesty fanfiction that suggests otherwise though ;)

Just googled this.  Mildly devastated that Lofty is not a G4 remake of the G1 pony of the same name, but oh well...

They were atleast drawn to look like stallions in the cartoon! Lol. Sports Time just always looks like all the mares.
