Title: 35th anniversery ponies, if they where a little different...
Post by: Leikin on August 17, 2018, 03:43:45 AM
Inspired by the other discussions about which ponies will be released next in the anniversery line, I thought I would start a topic about how you would like them to be, if the ponies just wherent copies of the old ones, but altered a little to have that little "twist"!  :P
Reffering to myself, I would find it quite boring if they just kept rereleasing the same ponies I already have, and would probably stop buying. But If they altered them in some way, still being the pony we all remember and love, but with something new added or changed, so it would be more like a new variant of that pony.

I'm aware that some people want them to be as close as original as they may have a hard time finding the original, or that is what they remember from childhood, and that is absolutely ok. :)

Let us just play with the thought, that they did change a few things here and there, what ponies would you like to see, and how would you like them altered?

I would love if they released Sprinkles in blue (as her prototype) instead of pink/lavender.

Or Blossom in white hair, like her baby.   Cherries Jubilee with glitter cherries instead of painted.
A TAF Medley in lighter green then her original.
And I always wanted a reverse Buttons, blue with pink hair and blue stripe

I would like to see them in alternate poses.

For the Rainbows, it would have been fun to reverse the order of the colors in their manes.  For Sunlight in particular, I would have liked to see the colors in her symbol reversed, a silver cloud and a gold sun.

Alternative poses would be fab.

and if there was ever a Minty in the trotting pose like Taffeta has shown I'd be buying an army of them :)

That's such a cool Minty!

I’d love to see a blue Sprinkles. :lovey: I’ve been wondering lately why she made it so far in production as blue, (blue in the commercial, blue on the photo in the box) and seemed to be changed at the last minute.

Different poses would be fab!

I really don´t like the Tootsie-pose, but imagine a Cherries jubilee in a Powder pose!

Or Blossom in white hair, like her baby.

I'm actually working on a custom of that (see profile picture), I had to fade the head to match the body (her real head, not the baby head) and am getting ready to get back into it.

G1 characters in G4 form (the original not the movie/reboot style) is the only alteration that would interest me.

I would like the same colors, symbols and hair but would like to see them in sitting, laying and rearing poses. A nice little meadow full of possibilities.

One more vote for a blue Sprinkles!

I would be more than happy if they omitted the sitting pose and Tootsie pose and released Seashell and Cherries Jubilee in the same pose as Posey and Lickity Split and made Bubbles and Tootsie in the shy pose with Applejack and Bow Tie.

That would be really neat.  I like CJ and Tootsie, but it's not my favorite pose, and I love the shy pose.

I'd love to see Rosette in some other pose besides the Tootsie pose. She's got such pretty and unique coloring with that yellow and orange, and her hair in factory curls is breathtaking.  Actually, I'd like to see that pose disappear entirely.  It's just an ugly pose.

Alternative poses for the win!  I'd also love to see babies for ponies who never got babies (a Baby Magic Star?  Yes please!) and vice versa.

Is anyone planning on customizing any of the Basic Fun ponies?  Seems like this is the perfect opportunity for rehairing them in alternate colors.  Especially since the more we buy, the more they will make and the better sales will be!

I've been wondering how hard it would be to turn some of them into Twinkle Eyes . . .

Oh dear God almighty, I re-read what I wrote....I meant Cherries Jubilee in the Posey pose, not Powder pose
I blame it on the fever I´ve been running these past couple of days.

I agree. I really hope they don’t make any Tootsie pose ponies - the world does not need more of those!

I’d like to see then do a few from each major set - so a few TE’s, wingers, sea ponies etc. It would also be cool if they did a ‘new’ 35th pony to add to each original set that was a completely new, but vintage inspired design. There’s so much money to be made here, I really hope they run with it (and read this thread XD).

I hated that pose as a kid, but as an adult, I am quite fond of it. I had a few ponies in it as a kid, including CJ. I would love to see her in Posey's pose, but would be sad to see her changed out of that weird clunky pose after so many years...

I think it would be fun if they resculpted the ponies. I have done it. It isn't that hard to make new poses in the G1 style.

I definitely plan to get some for customizing.  If I'm able to at a decent price, we don't have a Target here unfortunately. :(

Looks like alternate poses is what most people would see. :)  So much possibilities!
I would love CJ and Tootsie in Poseys pose, Glory would be stunning in Powders or Mimics pose (proud or looking to the sky/space)
Agree with Rosette as well, would like to see her in Poseys pose (ok, I have a soft spot for that one :P ) It would almost be as she was eunning with fire in her hair ^^

Or Blossom in white hair, like her baby.

Oh, is that what its going to be? I actually love that picture, makes me smile everytime I see it, she looks so weid with that baby head, but I think it suits her in some weird way :P:
