Title: Strange eyes on 35th ann Sunlight and Parasol? (baby pony eye??)
Post by: xCharx on August 13, 2018, 03:20:56 AM
I felt something was a bit off on 35th anniversary Sunlight and Parasol. Their eyes seem more 'cat like' somehow…

Then I realised their eyes look more like those on G1 Baby Ponies in Baby Ember's pose, than they look like the eyes on G1 adult ponies in the Sunlight pose

It's because of the placement of the upper lashes, they're further back then on the G1 Sunlight pose ponies.

Anyone else noticed this? :P

(Talking about their right eye as I have only seen this one, because I don't own one yet and you only see the right eye in online pics. Alsi I tried to add pics to illustrate but couldn't get it to work sorry  )

I didn't notice but now I'll have to compare!

As long as they didn't use BBE eyes . . . can you imagine . . . :P

They could have, though. I mean, there is a BBE Sunlight O.O.

I noticed this little difference as well. Ponies' top eyelashes usually start near the front edge of their irises and swoop up to touch the highest point under their browbone (supraorbital ridge? not sure what to call this). A 35th Anniversary pony's lashes start further back, near the middle of their pupil, and only extend the short distance to the descending edge of their browbone. I don't have any Ember pose babies on hand, but here are my two Blossoms to compare.

Using your Blossoms photo, I grey-scaled the eyes and made the comparison image below:

I think she lives with Ember now but I was lucky enough to see her at ponycon. And it is...a little creepy. They are very starey eyes. Like you wouldn't want to mess with her, or meet her on a dark night...
