These are style guides from a few years ago and boy oh boy was Hasbro enthusiastic about the Rainbow ponies for retro merch!

The other thing I found interesting was that Walgreens exclusive Nurse Redheart had her very own style guide. Did she ever show up on merch? Other than her actual toy(s)?

That's so unsurprising...we've been drowing in Rainbow Pony merchandise in the UK for the past couple of years. Especially Starshine but latterly Moonstone and Windy as well. Also Princess Amethyst with rainbow hair.

On the retro guide... is that a G3 fakie on the trend page? (the purple one in the upper right section?)
The Nurse Redheart guide is interesting.

I mean it has to be curated some how, and I still maintain that I think the rainbow pony set is one of the best representation of what ponies are about to the general public. Pastel colors and rainbows.

Aw man, I would have been all over that Nurse Redheart merch, especially the band-aids! None of the Walgreens near me even stocked her toy though. :(

Would have loved to find that retro art on things here on a regular basis. Seeing the vector art explains why some of the other retro merch used them for those ponies. My Walgreens had Redheart for ages, she was an epic shelf warmer. Fine by me because it gave me time to buy her.

I guess the color difference between the G1 rainbow ponies and the retro ponies, is probably because they based the colors on the character art rather than the actual colors of the original ponies...
As for the lack of Nurse Redheart Merch- what a lost opportunity- I know so many nurses (3 in my own family) and nurse merch does actually seem to sell well...

It's interesting that even though Starshine and Skydancer art is pretty much a recolor of one another, Skydancer has just oone more picture.

I actually found a piece of Nurse Redheart merchandise that uses the "Redheart wrapping Rainbow Dash's wing" art.

But here's where it gets weird: it was on Taobao and it might be a bootleg.
But if it was a bootleg, where did it get this uncommon piece of art from? (I mean, I guess they could have come across this same page on the internet but it seems unlikely.)

The box is really good quality and even has Hasbro's name brand on it (which is unusual). So I'm really undecided about whether this is a bootleg versus a licensed product.

Ah that is so heckin cute, and it really does look pretty genuine! I love the skeptical Twilight and Rainbow Dash on the side of the box too. "Not to worry, ponies! This butter knife scalpel is totally legit. Look, I even have a fancy, official Work Permit!"

There’s also a MLP coloring book with Nurse Redheart on it. I feel like I might have seen that Nusrse Redheart medical kit/case in a Walgreen’s once.
