Title: Smooze/schimmel/cancer? Need cleaning help!
Post by: pinle on July 22, 2018, 07:20:06 PM
What is it and how to deal with it? Boiling water, acetone does not help.
And tell me please, is it not contagious for the rest of the collection? Should I put them in quarantine?

Looks like pindot/smooze! To take care of pindot, run the pony under warm or hot water to heat up the plastic, and scrub with soap using your fingernails. It's tedious and slow, but if you keep repeating that you'll get it away eventually.

No, it's not help. I saw this guide before :(

As I said, it takes a lot of time. You've gotta be patient and keep it up for a while.

I agree with TheBeatlesPkmnFan42: pindot.

It can be sorted out but you need very hot water, liquid soap and lots of scrubbing. I use a fish knife for the scrubbing. But be prepared for a lot of work; this takes time.

Also: it's not contagious. So if you can't get it off, it won't spread to other ponies.

Yeah, that's pindot. You need to submerge the affected area in boiling water for 30 seconds to a minute just to get the pores to open up. You can take her out once she is all soft and squishy. Use some soap and scrub. Repeat as necessary. Like Shaz said, it isn't contagious, it's just dirt that has gotten into the pores of the vinyl :)
