Title: How do you display your baby sea ponies?
Post by: Ponyfan on May 20, 2018, 07:03:59 PM
Hi,

I'm looking for display ideas for G1 baby sea ponies when they can't stand up on their own. How do you display yours?  :)

I'm lucky enough to have an adult one with her shell, so I've got two of my baby sea ponies balancing on her shell on either side of her. With my third baby sea pony, I've got her floaty, so I don't have to worry about her. IIRC there are some toy floaties similar to the size of pony ones out there, I remember seeing someone post them before. Forget where you could get them though.

I used a clear plastic egg crate!

A lot of mine came with their floats, so I use those. With others, I have used EOS lip balm for them to lean against. I also learned some against a G1 box I have.

A little off topic, but who knew the floats were squishy?! I always thought they were hard plastic, but I got one and it felt like a pool toy. Yay Hasbro for detail!

Mine just sit in their floaties, slightly tilted to one side  :P

Aadra - I love how that looks! Egg crate is a great idea :)

I'm totally drooling over your adult sea pony collection (and MOC Tuneful peeking in in the corner, haha) :lovey:

Cool, my Sea Shimmer's float was very hard though. Hollow, so it had some minor give, but obviously not intended to be squishy.

I like to buy neat looking, transparent glasses from places like Pier 1 Imports, fill them with decorative pebbles (think fish bowl style!) and stick 'em in.

(I know Water Lily has her float in this but still)

Thanks for the pics everyone. I have a Yoplait Oui yogurt jar I was thinking of using and placing some decorative pebbles inside but do the pebbles stain the sea pony?

Dunno about aquarium pebbles. I use the glass stones and they have not stained any of mine. Perhaps try it on a really baity fakie first?
