My kid is the one who lucks out on SS ponies. She's got a nice Scrumptious and a snuggly Lofty! And also a pretty decent Wind Whistler.
RoseNoire - There are probably a few SS ponies that are under $15 with nice flocking, like Magic Star and (I'm guessing) Sundance.

They were some of my first buys on the Arena/TP. I always wanted Paradise as a kid cuz of the cartoon, so I made sure to get a beautifully flocked one for my collection, and I loved her so much, I also got Scrumptious, a necessity addition to my white pony herd.
So Softs are my favorite! Yours are all lovely! What a beautiful collection Star Strider!
Mine are recently out of storage and haven't had a spa day yet so don't mind them. Some are minty, some have great flocking but need a gentle bath and some are well loved. Especially my childhood Heart Throb and Cherries Jubilee, they are more worn out but I love them to pieces, they got lots of play time when I was a kid. One day I'll have to do a proper photo shoot. :)

I need a Twilight like that. I have been looking for one for ages and she is SO hard to find with nice fur. I have about given up and started figuring out how much I would need to save to get one MOC.
It's nice to know that nice loose Twilights do exist. Taffy is the other one.

I have a pretty deflocked one, a frizzed and faded and flocking rubbed one which I keep because she was my first Twilight and came from my original trading partner, and one which has reasonable fur and hair is/was pinkish but flocking is...not brilliant colour.
So the hunt remains.
I haven't seen many Taffys in this thread though. Mine is...well, yes, mine is not pretty. Is Taffy particularly hard to find with nice flocking? I know she's one of the rarer sets, and I haven't seriously gone looking for an upgrade, but I am now curious to know.

Your sentence cut off but I'm assuming you were asking if I cover their hair? I sunfaded my deflocked yellowed Paradise and SS Gusty and for both I was lazy and did not cover their hair. I did cover Paradise's eyes and symbols since she was deflocked. Paradise's hair faded very slightly but she was soaked in oxyclean and then put in a window for like 4 months. Gusty's hair seems to be fine but it's probably best to cover hair to be safe.
I just got this absolutely lovely Skippity Doo in the mail today from a generous person on MLPTP who was essentially giving away some of her collection. I didn't ask for pictures beforehand but I was honestly so surprised by how plush her flocking was once she arrived!

I'm not sure if the yellow is discoloration or if it could be cleaned out, I'll give her a bath later and see. But her flocking is that plush on both sides!

It did cut off!!! I was wondering if when you sunfaded your So Softs, what did you do about their symbols? I’m guessing nothing due to the flocking?
Oh my! Satin n Lace is so fuzzy :lol: Such soft, much flocking. Reminds me why I loved SS as a kid. Giant 3D fuzzy stickers! Sadly mine never kept their flocking. One to many adventures.

Angel has to be one of the prettiest ponies around. I love her teal and mint colouring, she's quite unique among G1 colour palettes. For some reason the designers obviously thought that green ponies would be less popular and wouldn't sell as well, so they manufactured fewer green ponies than any other colour. Such a shame, because I adore green ponies.
