I have her, she was a birthday gift. :)

I have her twice. My original carboot find pony has absolutely no curl left, just a lot of hair. The other I got with her sisters in a set of them with mint curls from a collector. But the original gets to stay.
In the UK we call her Rainbow Rider. She was the icon pony on all backcards and the insert for the 1990-1991 year release. I am trying to remember what she did in the comics, because there is something, but I can't recall. Maybe it has something to do with music...I'm pretty sure that's likely as she's the one with the music stave symbol.
In the comic they lived on Rainbow Mountain and were the guardians of the Rainbow Baby ponies, who lived in the Rainbow nursery.

My upgrade with the proper factory curl. Don't seem to have a picture of the other one.
Also, Streaky is a really ugly name for a really pretty pony. Gonna stick with Rainbow Rider. Although all the ponies this year had 'Rainbow' in the name, which made them a bit clunky, I think it's still nicer to call them Rider, Magic, Storyteller and Cloud than Streaky, Stripes, Ringlet and Raincurl...

I love these anecdotes! I always thought Streaky was an awful and inappropriate name for such a pretty pony. She was a childhood favorite.

I've never had a problem with her name? I think of it as colors streaking across the sky, like during a sunset. Which is probably what it means anyway.

It's all personal opinion, of course, but it's the complete disconnect between the name and the pony that I bother about. I mean, even if I don't like other US names, I understand most of them - but this set I never have really.
Edit: Going to take this naming thing to a separate thread...

I have this girl. Shes very cute. I love her rainbow hair. :) rainbows are big thing with me and so are hearts. :)

She is the only one whose UK name I can remember, thanks to her being the star of the most poorly illustrated G1 book I've ever seen, 'Rainbow Rider's Birthday Adventure'. Hilarious, 10/10, would recommend.

I really want her: she is so beautiful and I love the set although I only own one so far. And I must say that I am with Taffeta on this one. Poor girl, the name just doesn't do her justice.

I think I have that book somewhere but I've never read it. Seems like I missed out o.O.

Now that people point out her name, I realize it is not the best choice for a pony! I always imagined it as the chisel tip on a Copic marker running out and squeaking and streaking all over the page. I watch too many art you tubers, lol... When markers run out they kinda streak over the page. I doubt that was what Hasbro was thinking though!

Streaky is one of my favourites. The entire Rainbow Curl Ponies set are my all-time favourite G! series. Their beautiful pastel colouring, the gentle curls, their pretty symbols... too gorgeous!
