Title: Finished Display for Custom mlp Family
Post by: jrr74 on December 31, 2017, 07:09:50 PM
Ok, I am not sure if I am done, done; with my display that is.  I feel like it is missing something.  Maybe my use of a monochromatic palate is throwing me off.  I bought this family of ponies as a Christmas present to myself.  I must have been really good this year to get such lovelies.  Even before the paint was dried, I was working on display ideas. If you look closely, you can see the ponies have a visitor in the background.  With regards to the ponies' symbols, I thought he would be a neat addition to the display

This says to me- it's a family whose totem spirit may be a the (extinct) California Grizzly Bear. If the indigenous area is California and it appears to be in the dry foothills (along with the fact there are wild horses in that state), I would recommend adding some California sagebrush (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemisia_californica).

The flowers have a slight tinge of pink (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EHMytNouEgY/UnphyAxjsuI/AAAAAAAAB6g/Xg55siTihTM/s1600/flowers+-+close-up.jpg) which may complement the setting.

I have some artificial turf coming in that I may spray paint a yellow-gold color just in case the fabric bottom does not sit well with me.  I did order some prairie like plants with flowers, but are yellow and orange.  Thanks so much though.  Love your train of thought

I certainly hope I helped! If there is anything I am good at, it's rambling  xD
