Title: Alternate products for tail rust removal?
Post by: Purpleglasses on August 13, 2017, 09:29:39 AM
So I recently bought a big lot of G1 ponies off Craigslist! There were lots of good ponies in there, but many need a LOT of work to get back up to being in nice condition. While looking for ways to fix tail rust, I came across RIT rust remover and this list of other similar products that get rust out of fabric.  http://www.stain-removal-101.com/rust-stain-remover.html

Particularly interesting is the Carbona Stain Devil #9, which can be used to soak items, and then rinse away the rust stain. Since there are SO many ponies with tail rust, it would be lovely to just pull out a bunch of tails, soak them in a bucket of this stuff for a few hours, and rinse them and be done. Has anyone else used it for ponies? I suppose if the materials says it works on nylon there couldn't be any promblems, since G1s have nylon hair right?

If you've had experience with the stuff let me know! If I get a hold of some and test it on a common tail, I will let you know how it turns out.
