The headscarfs are cute- but I wish they'd stop doing the weird half-painted leg thing...

How much did this cost at Walmart?
I can see why they'd make it, it lets you get all mane 6 at once with the pirate movie theme...but the 'half paint' stuff just looks cheap. That you can see where it stops while they're still IN the box shows just how small of a 'mark' they're trying to tell you is a 'costume'. If it was super cheap/bargain I could understand but...I'm kinda betting its not 10 dollars.

I think my Walmart had these for $29.99 or thereabouts. Applejack has a real hat now but I agree with the half-painted thing.

Man, I'm torn on these. I love the concept but the execution is really lackluster, as everyone else pointed out with the half-paint thing. I wish they were actual plastic clothing, or at the very least, fully painted on. The half-paint looks tacky so I can't see myself buying these.

The three headscarves and Dash's Goggles are actual clothes but it would be fun if the rest of their "costumes" were real clothes, too. (You can't tell from the pictures but Dash has a headscarf under her goggles.)

They look lazy, especially compared to the GoH pirate versions with full on clothes.

Proving that it is not (unsurprisingly) cost prohibitive or difficult to paint both sides of a leg...

I saw some of the GoH ones yesterday. Why they look better I cannot get past the fact that the accessories will likely not work properly on them xD
As for the OP set, does AJ's hat look kind of like the original release hat? I thought it did when I saw photos of the set but trying the original hat doesn't seem to fit well on these newer ponies.

One thing I do really like about these is that the winged ones have movable wings. But I don't think that alone would make me want to get these.

I take it back, it appeared to be the same mold, but nope, the wings do move :shocked:
Wish they would be up for sale online, what is walmart.com waiting for :cry:

I have them. The wings move and pop on and off easily, too. I wouldn't be surprised if these became available on eBay in the future with Twilight, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash all missing their wings because kids lost them.

Aaaaarrrr get those mane 6 off me ship mateys!
In all fairness the leg paint seems to go all the way round on Fluttershy.
I was thinking the same thing about the GoH wings, Pokeyonekenobie. These are definitely going to be the flutterponies of the future!!! Perfect for using up those 2060 Pepsi bottles.
I'm ready to take on the pirate crew for the box art alone but, I'll stick with the GoH pirates.
I like that they're mixing up the various combinations of things though, so those who like the new molds and posable wings but hate the leg joints will have something they find perfect here.
