Title: Gen 4 Twilight Pegasus Custom WIP (Er.. SS Twilight)
Post by: gummybuns on March 13, 2017, 07:27:20 PM
Ok so this is my custom So Soft Twilight (Not flocking her XD)
Anyways her cutie mark got botched, not sure if it was the brand I used, or the age of it.
I kept messing up on her left eye, and her right eye came out perfect (For what a 16 year old who doesnt paint much can do)
And I'm planning on rerooting her with Pussy Kat (I believe that's the original color she had if it's not then close enough XD) tomorrow so I'll update this with how well that went.

If you want to tidy up the eyes a little.
Use a clean dry brush with firm bristles to gently push the excess paint in towars the center.
For the pink blob on the left use the dry brush to scrape it away.

Good advice. Using a small liner brush with water can help when the paint is damp. I find that being very careful with the dull edge of of an xacto knife can help shape paint, but being careful is the key. Anything with a thin edge should help. I also try to avoid painting over the black part of the eye if possible, as it helps with a cleaner look if I paint less. Haha.

Thanks for the advice
It just occured to me that both of them are different eye styles whoops
I'll use some of those tips on my next one (I think I was going to do Gusty or Lickety Split as my next)
(And possibly touch up the left eye a little.) ^^;

Keep going! You are doing great :)

I practiced painting eyes in paper until it became muscle memory ^.^

Getting eyes matching on each side of the head is tricky, but remember most of the time you only see one or the other ;)
