Hello,
I have been out of the loop for so long doing study but that has finished now and I'm throwing myself back into ponies, I can understand those in the same position being busy and not having time to dedicate to ponies and I wonder if it is that same reason that some of the fantastic pony sites haven't been updated in a while? I've noticed its been a while for the following:
Strawberry Reef G3 & G4 Site
Rereleases Encyclopedia
great ponies has exceeded bandwidth (I use this one to identify my G1 stuff and I love it)
mylittleponycollector
Where the rainbow ends
I do hope that at some point the last two come back online as they were good reference points.

greatponies is down for a long time now. I'm so glad that I saved some of the sites for research purposes back when it was still working...

I know Strawberry Reef isn't updated any more because the person running it got married and had a family (I think one of her kids is disabled as well) so she doesn't have time for it any more. It's still a useful site though to look up G3s.

I've got more bad news for you ... Dreamvalley G1 site was discontinued in mid-2016. :(

Dragonfly I had heard that unfortunately :( that is sad as that was "the" site when I first started collecting back in the 90's where we could identify the ponies. It's a great loss that it has gone :(

I've been working to update mine. I've had more time to work on it lately so I'm hoping to have the new version up in a few months. My Little Wiki is a good resource. its been my goto lately.
I was sad to hear about Dream Valley. that was my favorite when i first started collecting.

The My little Pony scrapbook is a great site too, I do all of my research there. It is especially great for European collectors because the UK market was similar to the European market it seems and Etherella shares so much great info there.

I really want a good site that lists G4 brushables. G1-G3 have some pretty good books and other references out there (Strawberry Reef is still great for G3s), but I'm just not sure where to look for G4s. Plus, I'm always overwhelmed by Nirvana and Euro ponies. O_o

Yes MLP merch is fantastic for g4's and also up to date with new ponies

The MLP merch site doesn't have clear checklists for blindbags. After wave 14 pictures are blurry. They use the same picture for same ponies from different waves and sets but they're actually different. I have 4 different Twilights from different waves. They may look the same but they're not. I wish they had HD photos for every pony.

Ponytopia was a great G3 site too. It's still up but hasn't seen updates since 2007ish.

I used it one or two days ago and it was ok :shocked:
Fortunately months ago I saved part of the site (only the G3 catalog) because I hated when I wanted to search a pony and I hadn´t connection...
I think I have all the diferent index searches (lists by name, color, etc), The only thing I didn' t save was each individual pony, so if, for example, you are in the white category and you click on the "X Pony" name it won´t open the profile of the pony.
I really hope the site is back active, if not I could try to upload the things I have, do you think the owner could give me permission for that? :huh:

i've been working on a new version of my site. http://www.mylittleponycollection.info (the link is temporarily down)
the first version was not as easy to use as i would have liked. I'm planning to list all of the ponies but I would like some help from the arena since i haven't kept up with G4s at all and i don't think i have all of the G3s in my database.
It will have collection tracking, wishlists, and lots of images like the first version. it will just be easier to use I hope :)
Any feature requests and suggestions are welcome :)

I'm not quite as sad now...
I love the way the G1 catalog is set up by country or color on strawberry reef. It makes it easy for a newbie like me to just browse and learn :heart:
But like many others, I also use MyLittleWiki. The sheer amount of info available is mind boggling to me!

MLP Merch is also working on adding the older generations. Should go online this year (But First I'm working on LPS Merch which has all the Hasbro LPS releases) :P

So not to self-advertise, but my website is still there, and just because I'm in the UK and thus it has UK pony history information on it doesn't mean it's absolutely devoid of any other G1 information, MIP and loose. I am pretty sure I have the whole of G1 covered, minus Nirvana, which the Arena Nirvana forum is the best place for anyway, alongside the wiki.

I use your site Taffeta :) I've always liked the detailed descriptions and back stories for the ponies and playsets.
It was also so helpful for learning about UK ponies when I first started collecting.

Thank you both :) It makes me happy to know that people are using it, especially since everyone keeps complaining that all the websites are vanishing, but there are a lot other than mine that are still here. The world isn't ending, we still have a solid information network between this forum, the wiki, and the various sites out there. It would be a lot more productive if people created a link hub of sites that are still out there and being actively cared for and updated regularly, as opposed to ones that have been abandoned to the point they've disappeared and can only be accessed by a website archive.
In the 19 years I've been online and in the pony community hundreds of sites have appeared and disappeared and new ones have always come to take their place.

Perhaps we could come together as a pony community and see if we can help getting some of these sites back online and updated? Just a thought and would only work if we could get in touch with the original owners...

Strawberry Reef isn't just back, it's updated and I could not be happier right now :) It has everything MLPmerch and MyLittleWiki don't have.
I was always doubting the info on g4s tho. It says ponies from Royal Ball set and ponies from Glimmer Wings sets (one with Diamond Rose and one with Sweet Song) have the same type of tinsel in hair. Does anyone have both of these Pinkies or Fluttershys to prove it? Can someone show pictures of them together?

I have so many hours of good memories going through that site and MLP Land wouldn't be what it is withouth Dream Valley. I love your site Stargaze! especially the ID section, it makes it so much easier!!! I know how you feel losing interest in collecting, I must say the reboot series is a real turn off for me.
Such a pity about the rereleases site too, I use it so often as I'm sure other people do.
I know myself I have at least 5 tabs open with all the different sites ready to go, they all have their unique uses and information.
Tornado Twist I can't wait for the LPS section, I always have trouble with the ID on the accessories and there isn't a great deal of ID sites around for that..

No the wiki isn't mine unfortunately it belongs to Absol, mind you I add to it a lot and I mean a lot, I think because its easy to use and anyone can contribute means if you don't have time to update it other people could. Thank you for the add to your links!

Stargaze I love your site!! It has the best ID feature imo :) I use it a lot.
From what I heard, the owner of Dream Valley shut down all of her sites suddenly and just said she couldn't keep them up any more? Not sure what happened but it doesn't look like they'll be coming back any time soon, if ever. I hope she's alright :(
