Title: Stringing BJDs help please.
Post by: sd_dreamcrystal on March 04, 2017, 06:37:02 PM
Hey guys,

Recently I 3D printed a BJD Dragon and I'm working on 3D printing another one in another color. Anyway I followed the video instructions for stringing it but the person only showed how to do it and didn't say how much tension is needed for the joints..

So my issue with the dragon is that his legs keep springing up because if I didn't have the elastic tight enough the legs would not hold XD
The maker of this Dragon states that the elastic needs to be 2mm to 3mm and I think I might have gotten 1mm - 1.5mm from the local craft store but I'm not sure if that is the size of that cord (Is there away to tell? Because the packaging isn't telling me. It does look close to the 2mm I bought off of eBay.)

I loathe stringing BJDs!!! I know some people don't mind, but it just makes me a bit more crazy than norm. XD
I think (not my strongest suit, lately) that you can simply measure the diameter of the rope to see what the size if, assuming you have a ruler or measuring tape handy, of course. I'm sure the size would definitely make a difference, but I personally have had to just make adjustments to get my dolls strung just right...  Which reminds me that I have a guy that's too tight and needs some heavy adjusting... Nghhh....

Good luck with your new dragons!!!!!! :D Post us some pictures when you get them strung up right!!

Thanks K. I guess I'll have to readjust the black one with a thicker cord and hope the white one will be fine XD
