Title: Macau Jenny in an Ebay Lot?!
Post by: ringwraith10 on March 04, 2017, 01:00:10 PM
So I was browsing Ebay, as you do, and I came across a pretty normal-seeming lot of ponies with a bunch of commons... and a brown Snuzzle?! My initial thought was that she was a Macau Jenny (though how she managed to get into this lot of common ponies is beyond me), but she has pink hair? Here's a picture:

So does anyone know what/who this pony is? Unfortunately I can't afford to bid on her since I've reached my pony budget for this month already, but I'm just really curious. If anyone wants to see the lot with the rest of the pictures, search Ebay for "Huge Lot of My Little Pony + Accessories Rare Vintage Pre 1990".

I hope this post is allowed -- I know we can't post links to auctions but I think we can post pictures and descriptions?

Jenny is like the only nirvana ive ever wanted lol

and If this isn't a Jenny, maybe she's an off colored Peachy, or a Peachy whose vinyl has changed for one reason or another, hence the pink hair

but the fact that her cutie mark is white makes me wonder if she may just be an ooak nirvana

Hmmmm, interesting. I looked at the wiki and apparently there is a brown Italian Peachy too, but she doesn't quite match that either.
It's possible she's just discoloured, but wow I'll be surprised if so.

I'm not sure who that pony is?

The symbol shape doesn't look quite right for Macau Jenny, but it could be the angle of the picture.

The same is true of brown Italy Peachy, the symbols aren't a match.

Perhaps drop the seller a line and ask for more information such as the hoof marks.

I'm so glad you're asking this Ringwraith10!

I have been pondering this question since I saw the listing go up, even though it's not something I'm bidding on either  ;)

I'm pretty new to collecting, but even I thought that pony looked unique. I was so curious and checked it out on My Little Wiki but couldn't find any variations that truly matched. It is certainly a mystery...to me anyways  :wonder:

Regardless of who she is...I think she's beautiful  :lovey:

I *think* she is a regular Peachy that was sunburned. She and Lemon Drop  in the lot both look like they got a bit of sun damage. But that's just my best guess.... will be interesting to find out if the winner posts.

I sent a message to the seller asking for a picture of the bottom of her feet (or a description of what the markings say), so hopefully I'll hear back soon! I really want to know who this pony is! If she is a sunburned Peachy, that is the darkest sunburn I've ever seen... O_o

This. I;ve seen Peachy go that colour before. She looks pretty standard to me. Her symbols are also clearly pale pink and her hair looks like a regular Peachy.

Peachy can discolour, but that is pretty bad sunburn if that is the case! Hair and symbols do look like normal Peachy, but the body colour does not. Hopefully pictures of the hooves (or even just text) will help :)

If normal peachy can end up like that  then I want one for customising!
Can they really get *that* dark and with even colour like that?

if left in a window and it only burns, frequently they get cancer spots with that much sun. I have a bait Lemon Drop that is that color but she has cancer spots too. I'm not 100% sure that's what happened here, but that would be my first guess.

I can not find the auction. Can someone pm me a link or a clue to how to find it? I'm not going to bid on it so I will not be competition to you. But if someone here wins them and it turns out to be a discoloured Peachy I would be interested in buying it.

Her eyes don't look like Macau or Italian eyes to me. I'm with the others who guess that she's just a very badly discoloured regular Peachy.

I think it's regular Peachy too.

I would say a regular peachy with sun damage, too, or it could be just dirt and grime; I had a nasty looking firefly that turned near mint once I scrubbed the dirt off, haha!.  I think smoke damage can turn ponies that color, too.

That surprises me, too, but I guess it's the only logical explanation. I've never seen that before  My only other thought is that someone tried their hand at dying a Peachy and made her brown, but it looks like a childhood lot so I don't think that was the case.

I would say it's a regular Peachy with cigarette smoke damage and lots of exposure to sun!

If she were dyed then her hair would have been dyed too.  Unless she's a rehair, but I don't think she is, looks like MLP Hong Kong hair to me.  I've never seen a Peachy burn that much, but if other people have seen it then I believe it.  Her eyes don't look like Italian / Macau to me.

Oh! the above mentioned smoke or heat damage is a strong possibility  too. that could explain the even color.

My guess is cigs too.

Yes, they can really discolor things.  Could have been exacerbated by sun or some kind of vinyl breakdown.

I remember someone selling a strawberry shortcake toddler doll (Cherry Cobbler) and she had completely brown skin and face - she was advertised as AA but it was just a horribly vinyl damaged doll..

I was thinking cigs too, but none of the others look smoke discoloured. Of course, if it's not a childhood lot this doesn't mean anything. It's just odd to see one pony in such a vastly different condition to the rest that look near mint.
