MLPs were my favorite toys as a kid, but I never saw the movies or cartoons. I know that the Dream Castle featured in one of these. What is it like in the movie/cartoon? Does anyone have pictures? How similar is the playset to the images?

Magic Star gave it away at the end of MLP: The Movie because she is the worst pony.
Mystifyingly, it is never visible in "MLP & Friends" even though Paradise Estate was supposedly directly overlooking it on a hill.
(Actually I think it does show up ONCE in a quick background shot--might be in the first part of the Nightshade episode? That's it for MLP & Friends appearances, though.)
It did show up in the first part of the movie (only the outside though) and the two specials. We got to see some of the inside in "Escape from Katrina." It had a big fountain and a fancy staircase and ballroom.

The outside gets a quick cameo in Firefly's Adventure / Rescue at Midnight Castle, when most of the ponies run back inside to escape the monster attack. Generally it's been very similar to the toy with some obvious RL adjustments - it's not nearly as big, and the toy version only has three towers where the art version usually has four.

This!!!! I had a hate on for Paradise Estate as a kid because the Dream Castle was my favourite playset. I'm still a sucker for any MLP castles.

I cannot remember much from the cartoons as I have not watched them since the 80s, however, if you are after some more mentions of Dream Castle, have a look at the old UK comics!
Someone has made an online archive with many scans of the pages - I cannot remember the url but search for comic scans in your search-engine :biggrin:

Right after Wind Whistler said Dream Castle was so special for them.I guess it wasn't that special if one Paradise Estate was enough for them to give it up.

Eh, what's more special? A castle or a pink mansion? :P :)
