Sometimes you just get on this kick for a certain set, species, generation or color.
Right now I'm on a So-Soft kick, I only have two and I want MORE! My new Ribbon is all prettied up, Gusty keeps eluding me, I haven't found the right Wind Whistler and Twilight remains outta my price range.
I'm also on a sea pony and ocean themed kick. PnP Baby Sea Shimmer, Sea light, G3 Seaspray, Baby Sunshower, Baby Dipper,Wave Runner, Aurora Mist, Seaflower. I wants my preciouses...
Anyone else feeling the need for specific ponies?

While I do want one of every pony ever made in history, I do want some twinkle eyed ponies and so softs . I just like the twinkle eyed ones (specially galaxy) and I do own a so soft lofty (the flocking is okay-ish I guess. My sister when I opened the box thought the flocking was mold or some foreign parasite/fungus thing on her!)
For thematics, I just have always wanted space themed items, so any starswirl, twilight, galaxy, moonstone, Milky Way, etc I want.

Also on a bit of a sweetheart sister binge at the mo... have again gone from they so freakin ugly to.... NEEDS THEM!

I'm on a G4 brushables kick, a G1 Twice As Fancy kick, as well as trying to get all the accessories for my flutter ponies. So far I've got every flutter, all original wings, Hollywood's Spike, Yum Yum's party hat, and every comb except one. What's eluding me right now is a hat and comb for Pink Dreams, and those pesky metallic tail ribbons. :D

I always go through certain ponies i must have, i am back on a custom kick which is nice as i havent added to my custom collection for a few years now. I also must add my last 3 ponies brought where all yellow

Dipping my hooves into the Nirvana waters :-) I'm just about complete on my US collection, so I was deciding between moving on to licensed merchandise or Nirvana's. The Nirvanas won for the moment.

I like to have more Nirvanas and euro exclusives. So I guess I am on that kick. I also want all G4 pearly ponies and water cuties I am missing. All baby G3s and Pegasuses.

Well I just went on a pony selling kick because I wanted to pare my collection down to just my favourites, but prior to that it was all about the Wingers (I kept all of those, they just need some TLC to bring them up to code!) :P

For some reason I'm collecting blindbags right now. All I'm getting are factory rejects but eh that's better than nothing. I'm always happy for used ponies, even if they are most common ones. I can't part with them even if they're a double.

Been on a bit of a G2 kick the last couple of months. :) Also holiday themed ponies (mainly G3) have moved up on the list. Otherwise currently it is all about the G1 boys (ponies and accessories, well mostly accessories).

I'm hopping back and forth between a G2 anything and G4 brushable kick.
Especially newer G4 brushables because I'm finally getting to a point where the ones I need aren't constantly popping up.

Random pony merchandise... I have some things in my Taobao cart that i'm gonna buy soon. I doubt any of it is legit but I don't really care. Most of it is stickers that are different from the ones we find in the USA.

Currently, BIG G3 kick, I absolutely LOVE G3 ponies, I recently got some, even, and I want more, I don't care who it is, if it's a G3, I gotta have it lately, most of my collection is G4s anyway, so I gotta balance it out somehow, right?
So far, I have only earth ponies from G3, so I especially want the Pegasus and Unicorn ponies.

This thread is so bad!!!! I'm not buying atm, but then I started to think about what I would get if I was.... and OMG, I cannot narrow it down. At all! It seems absence (or abstinence, in my case!) really does make the heart grow fonder! At first I was thinking Glow 'n' shows, and then I realised there were some great SS's I am after, and then I remembered that I still need half of the sparkle babies set, and the teensy tiny babies one, and then I remembered I need a few sets of the twins, and to pick up some UK ponies I'm still after, and the NBBE babies I still need... aaargh! *runs away from keyboard before ebay materializes on the screen*

I'm slowly but surely purchasing the ones I find pretty or cute; I'm casually looking for Love Token, Vanilla Treat, and Hopscotch, for instance, and some of the babies, like Baby Hopscotch, Baby Cherries Jubilee, Baby Honeycomb, and Baby Katie. There are several more. But I guess I'd been putting off getting the Euro exclusives I wanted because of expense and now I'm aiming for them.

This was so me last year. If I was not on a hiatus, I would love to pursue the UK Surprise newborn babies. I think I have both versions of the pink one but would love to get the two yellow and 2 green baby ponies. I just finished the Seven Tales set about a week ago so I am pretty excited about that!

Anyway, I went on a pony hiatus for awhile and now that I am back, I am completely obsessed with G2. I don't know how that happened. :lol: It's really fun collecting them since it's a break from G1 and there are so many new ponies.

When G1s still were odd to me and I was looking through pictures it was the so-softs that got me first...Leave a Whisper, I have So-soft Gusty and you really do want her.
Then I got some eBay groups of common ponies described as baits and with a few horrendous exceptions had really great luck and got a lot of ponies that just needed cleaning, maybe tail rust removed, or frizzed...struggled with frizz the most and got into trying to figure out age spots and how to fade pen marks and whatnot.

I know exactly what you mean Makaroni! I'm even interested in pony pieces....I got a box of someone else's cuustom projects and found ways to use leftover Pinklestia wings (princess big mac) and the like. I also like ponies that have some flaw that makes them unique, for example I recently found this G3 Pinky that had been left on its side in the sun so long one side faded to a coppery gold color so she's a completely self-made custom!

TEs are interesting to me for replacing their eye gems with better stones...got about half the set and stopped there because I still have to go back and actually replace the eyes before collecting further and of course ultimately must buy Mimic...I think when I find her for a decent price (never going to happen...) I'll be inspired to go back and fill in the rest.
Seaponies are great! Just the way they fit in the hand...so elegant. I have I think 5 or 6 of them now, the cheap/easy ones, which brings me to my main kick of all: my See-pony diet. If I see a pony, I want it.
Brothers of course especially Fire Chief because as I quickly discovered all white ponies look better to me. I was picking out ponies from a picture on my first arena deal and it wasn't until i realized I had picked almost all the white ponies and only a few others, that I like white ponies so much.
Lastly of course Star Lily who is not MLP but she's Hasbro and absolutely best pony. Unlike MLP, she seems to have no adult following whatsoever so loving her is a bit lonely.

Baby G2s are the best! Might explain why I keep getting outbid! You didn't outbid me today on Polka did you??? She always eludes me!
Seems every time I start going after something it shortly becomes more popular. Seems fads come round circle every so often. Collecting comes in seasons. Sometimes petites are popular other times you can't get rid of them. Sometimes accessories cost a week's salary.

As far as g1s go, I really like all of the twinkle-eyed ponies and the brush-n-grow series! I only have one from each, though...Although it's unlikely, I'm always on the lookout for them at thrift stores. I found my masquerade that way!
With G4s (which I have many more of), I've been slightly obsessive about collecting the newest pearly-bodied series. Unfortunately, it seems that wave 3 was completely skipped in the united states and those are the last four I need to complete it. Womp womp. :\

I am currently trying to work through my customs. I'm doing alt hair and alt symbol customs where hair has been buzzed and symbols damaged. But I'm very slow! I would like to find floater with no symbols and the ponies in my sig for restoration. I like having restored ponies when it comes the few more expensive ponies in my collection because I don't like having any that are too valuable, they make me nervous! Mind you they have all gone up. Eep.
