I was in my local TrU getting some last minute Christmas stuff for my son, and you know I had to look in the pony aisle. I was hoping that they would have the set with Minty in it because I knew some TrU's had them in stock. No luck on that, but to my surprise they had a bunch of Cutiemark Crusaders as flower girls on the shelves. I couldn't believe it. They came out literally years ago.
What crazy old stock have you seen in your stores?

I know a place where Rarity's Carousel Boutique is sold. It has damaged package so it's cheap.

About 10-15 years ago I was shopping in Albertson's and found an original, unopened G1 Merry Go Round board game on the shelf. I put it in my cart and finished grabbing my other items, and when I went to the register, they had no idea how much to price it for and it wasn't in the system, so they sold it to me for a dollar. :lol:

The local Walgreens has been carrying this Rarity (http://data.mlpmerch.com/brushables/set/rainbow-power/fashion-style-wave-1/) since forever, apparently priced too high for anyone to want it.

I once bought the Rarity and Princess Luna brushable 2 pack at a Walmart years after it was out of stock everywhere.

Yeah, I see the flower follies almost every time I go to TRU.
Did people not buy the ponies, and that's why they're still there, or did hasbro make too many?

The Kmart near me still has the tinsel Rainbow Power ponies.

I remember the old TRU in Birmingham having the Bed and Crib set (G1) when I was at university doing my undergrad in 2000-2003 (bearing in mind that G1 ended in the UK in 1994...)
The tinsel G4 are still here too and have been for a long time.
Old stock often comes out around Christmas.

I'm convinced they got a new order of the Cutie Mark Crusaders from the wedding series.
They disappeared at my store. Then showed back up with packaging damage. Sold out. And have been restocked on the shelves twice since then. They supposedly sell out every major sale and then there are still more. It's like what the heck where are these things coming from?

I've seen the Flower Fillies set, the original white talking Celestia, and the 3 pack with pink Celestia, Twilight, and Spike in several TRU. I've also seen the Rainbow Power brushables in Kmarts for years.

I see heaps of g3.5 stock in my old hometown whenever I go back there, still priced full retail. Last Christmas I also bought 4 of the early non-mane 6 brushables with the carts. I think I got Snowcatcher, Flitterheart, Honeybuzz and Plumsweet?
I got that TRU set with Minty in Paris 3 months ago. Nearly missed our plane from unpackaging and cramming it into our luggage, but so worth it - it's never been sold in Australia that I've seen!

I still see the flower fillies and set with pink Celestia, unicorn Twilight and quadrupedal Spike every time I go to my local TRU, the Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie rainbow power FS at my local B&N, and the original EqG set with Sunset and Twilight at my local TRU Outlet.

The Tescos over here STILL have that rainbow glittery G4 figure set (with the green boy.. Emerald Rays, I think his name is?).. they've had tons of them for years, they just can't get rid of 'em XD

I have never seen pony old stock but I found old MH stock in an Alco in a little mountain town in Colorado once including DT Ghoulia.

Up here we always seem to have old stuff. Now magic message with the neckless, hair bands and so on.

Back in '14 I found a first-wave Twilight Sparkle in Pittsburg, bangs and all. Needless to say I didn't leave without her. :D Sadly the store where I got her is no longer around. Ah well.

yeah same, its like they never get the good stuff in stock.
My TRU still has a lot of those sweet apple acres figures. i always thought that they were a little overpriced, and apparently other people did too because they have waay too many left in their store. I haven't seen a single GoH figure, and those are the ones that i would actually buy!

I generally do not see old stock till after Christmas at walmart.
What I've noticed from this one is that they tend to get whatever old stock they had from years ago and put is out in clearance with some of the other stuff.. That's how I got a few Breyers one year they seriously had those out in clearance after the holidays and I've never seen them out during said holidays. I won't be surprised if I see some older FiM after the holidays

My Tesco still has about five of those cluttering the shelf that have been there years. I don't know how much it is (was never interested in buying it) but maybe the price is too high? Or maybe they keep getting new stock of it. Emerald Rays' cutie mark looks like the BP logo to me...

My Tesco still has about five of those cluttering the shelf that have been there years. I don't know how much it is (was never interested in buying it) but maybe the price is too high? Or maybe they keep getting new stock of it. Emerald Rays' cutie mark looks like the BP logo to me...
They sell for around 40 dollars on ebay tho.

As far as fakies go, I'm seeing a lot of G3 molds all of a sudden, including newborn cuties and wingless Breezies.

Just last year my Target had a lone Canterlot Shine Bright Pinkie Pie on a peg. Not sure how or why she was there but I bought her. I think I paid like less than 4 dollars, too.

wow that really is old, I have seen multiple G3 things at Walmart as well. I saw a G3 piñata, I'm pretty sure that it was pinkie pie.

yeah, I don't collect G3, so its not very exciting for me. I don't normally see them in big cities, but in small town Walmarts, I almost always see something G3. I have seen tons of stickers, a blanket, and a puzzle.

I picked up another strange old item today - it was a G4 tote bag, very small, with 2 G3.5 books (A Book About Me & the Dazzling Design Stencil Book)and the G3 book Pinkie Pie's Special Day (CD version). The set was issued by 5 Mile Press (I'm pretty sure an Australian publisher, and issued all of these books at various times, not sure if they were available overseas) and claims to be from 2011, according to the tag. I'll leave the tag intact, as it seals the bag, and I already have the Pinkie Pie book and don't collect G3.5. But it was so weird that I picked it up. I'd also never seen that particular tote bag before, just plain white with G4 Pinkie & RD, and the G4 label all in pink, outlined like colouring book vectors. I'm guessing it was all overstock that was combined to sell better, those G3.5 books were shelf warmers for aages here. I found it in one of those pop-up 'all books $?' stores, this one happened to be $7. I also found some G3 colouring books I didn't have either, but those were on the discounted table, so were 3 for $5. Steal! But now I have to find my G3 colouring book stash, I think it got packed away the last time I re-organised because I thought I had all of them - I guess you learn something new every day!

My mum went there in December 2000 and still talks about how they were stacked on a trolley from floor to ceiling. She got me one for Christmas but I wish we'd got a few to sell now! Wonder where they eventually went? Wouldn't have been much use to kids in an era when ponies themselves (even G2) were quite hard to find in stores and yet we don't see tons of them showing up on eBay now so guess a dealer didn't stockpile them. Hope TRU didn't end up just throwing away the excess stock. :(

Until a few months ago, an admittedly rather old-fashioned department store in my area was still stocking G3 Ponyville figures! I was there again before Christmas, and they seem to have arrived at G4 now. Funnily enough, they're now stocking about the same range as other local stores, so they skipped ahead a bit. :)

My local Toys R Us still has the large white Celestia and the small pink Celestia, Twilight and Spike from the Royal wedding line on the shelves.
