Title: Darker plastic staining lighter plastic?
Post by: starryeyed on November 30, 2016, 11:25:06 AM
So recently I had to move a lot of my toys quickly because of a fire evacuation notice (everything's fine though!), so I put a lot of them into a large dark blue plastic container. When I unpacked about a week later, a few of my toys had dark blue stains on them that I couldn't remove with a magic eraser or nail polish remover. I think the plastic of the container stained the lighter-colored plastic of the toys, is there anything I can do about it? ;v; (Needless to say I've learned my lesson and will store my toys more carefully next time)

So sorry to hear that :( Glad everything else is fine though.

Do you have a photo of the staining? Sunfading may be the way to go.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. :( It's a good reminder to all of us tho, so thank you for sharing. I agree with the poster above, sun fading would be your best bet with stains like these. It takes time and patience, so good luck!

Yep, definitely sunfading. I had a similar thing happen when I quickly had to move some ponies (unexpected visitors) I'd just bought a big lot and they hadn't been cleaned yet, and were laying out on my spare bed. I threw them into a bag, and they were in there longer than I expected, so some ended up with lines and marks from the fabric dye. I had to sunfade to get the marks off. I was heartbroken when I finally got them out, but thankfully they all survived, and yours should too!
